Apple and Google may rattle their sabers every so often over browsers, cell phones and operating systems, but they appear to remain cozy pals when it comes to the ad dollars Cupertino is dropping into AdWords each month.AppleInsider is reporting that a…
One of the more amusing apps for the iPhone has to be Lightsaber Unleashed, which turns your device into a Star Wars lightsaber. Now the developer has kicked things up a notch, with a new app that allows two users to actually duel.
AppAdvice.com is reporting that the new Star Wars: Lightsaber Duel app has arrived in the App Store, and aspiring Jedi Knights will be happy to have the new ability to duel with their iPhone-toting friends.
The core of the new app is essentially the same as the original, free Lightsaber Unleashed, which already allowed two iPhone users to duel, but without any kind of special feedback. The 99-cent sequel, Star Wars: Lightsaber Duel, adds the ability to hear a crash of lightning as your faux sabers hit their target.
Two users now have the ability to connect via Bluetooth, and the lightsabers can now react to each other’s movements. Clash your sabers together or cross the lightsaber beams and you’ll get authentic light and sound effects.
The new app also expands the number of available characters to 15 of the most popular in the Star Wars universe. We hear that Emperor Palpatine has a special trick up his sleeve using The Force, so keep an eye out for that.
Star Wars: Lightsaber Duel is now available from the App Store. The app is compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch or even the iPad and requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later.
