In this video, I show how to enable Universal Control, and walk through some of its exciting new features. Keep in mind that this is a workaround to enable Universal Control in the macOS Beta, and it is not officially available yet in beta, and doesn't yet work for iPad. However, from my hands-on experience, Universal Control works fairly well, and enough is there to get a good idea of how it will work.
Extra special thanks to developer Zhuowei Zhang's Ensemble.plist download:
Universal Control compatibility and requirements: Available on MacBook Pro (2016 and later), MacBook (2016 and later), MacBook Air (2018 and later), iMac (2017 and later), iMac (5K Retina 27‑inch, Late 2015), iMac Pro, Mac mini (2018 and later), and Mac Pro (2019); and iPad Pro, iPad Air (3rd generation and later), iPad (6th generation and later), and iPad mini (5th generation and later). Both devices must be signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID using two‑factor authentication. To use wirelessly, both devices must have Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, and Handoff turned on and must be within 10 meters (30 feet) of each other. iPad and Mac must not be sharing a cellular and internet connection. To use over USB, you must trust your Mac on the iPad.

#universalcontrol #Mac #macosmonterey

woa woa woa, it’s finally here.
Look forward to this (iPad pro + iMac)
I heard that this feature is postponed and won’t arrive in the final release of iOS 15
@Shippo Hsu that was SharePlay
Yes!!!!
I never clicked so fast
Oh yeah me too
so cool, great if they could make it work with apps, no reason why it couldnt open/transfer a webpage or folder that are accessible by both machines
I think it’s possible that it will work with Safari in the future.
Does it work with the Mac mini
Will be interesting to see how (if) this works on multi-monitor setups. I have an iMac with *two* external monitors attached and it’s a nightmare because multi-monitor support has never worked properly as long as I can remember. Adding more monitors on separate devices via Universal Control is either going to fix everything on multi-monitor setups or (more likely) make it a hot mess!
Very cool. Cant wait to control Macs from an iPadPro with the Magic Keyboard (ie Universal Control for iOS) and declutter my desktop.
That’s a very very cool idea
I miss hdr content ! Please record hdr video
It is, YouTube is just insanely slow at processing it.
now that’s what we called seamless. take notes microsoft, google and samsung!
Windows users have been doing this with Input Director for 30 years, lol
Probably best to wait till it’s implemented in a beta release
It is, the plist file just enables a flag for the beta
WOW
Will it work using an MX MASTER 2s mouse?
I can’t wait for this feature!!! I have a iPad Pro and well I could also see me using this feature a lot
I wonder if I’ll able to use my Apple Pencil to draw precisely on macOS’ Photoshop w/o a drawing tablet.
I have been using this for nearly 10 years using a third party app.
it will be nice to use on 2 intel 27″ iMac’s
I love Apple products
