Hello.
What’s the brand of your iMac’s mini shelf on your desk
Xavier Ancarno I’d love to know too
Owen Gee I just asked on his Twitter…
will share with you, if he doesn’t answer here.
@Owen Gee he replied.
I don’t know if link are allowed

How could you say it’s under 2k when all your items on amazon equate to more than 2k, not counting the monitor.
I don’t include the mouse and keyboard in that $2k.
@9to5Mac nice
9to5Mac just get a 5k iMac. $1899 with the same 256gb ssd, 570x, 8gb ram and all actually UNDER $2000. Including mouse keyboard and monitor. It’s a much MUCH better editing rig.
Cool setup and real world example. But I just can’t get on board with a Mac mini.
FoodTechLife Exactly
Very nice video…Just on time!
I want to upgrade from my year 2014 imac .
Thanks
I still want the Mac Mini to pair with the iPad Pro.
it can’t? for sidecar I mean
I really love these real-world budget setups. The Mac mini is sorely underrated in its capabilities. If you’re not a full-time video editor, it can be a great machine for relatively little money. I would still be using my 2011 Mac mini for professional photography work if I bought the quad-core version of it at the time and the latest MacOS was still supported. Amazing little machine.
I am seriously considering the mac mini over the MacBooks. I don’t want to risk getting involved with those nasty butterfly keyboards. I actually plan on getting the iPad pro this holiday, and will be using that for little video editing. Do you know if sidecar works with mac mini?
@Olaseni Sogaolu sidecar works with Mac Mini 2018 or later veision, according to the Apple sidecar white paper
@Olaseni Sogaolu 2018 or later yes… There is not a 2019 mac mini yet though.
Solid video man, I was so thinking of this when all of the build-out videos came out with the MiniLaunch, it’s good to see a recent video on this build! Cheers
9:45 lol there’s already a new MX Master 3 mouse. Came out recently.
For a second I thought this is young mkbhd video
How many people work at your studio ?2-3?
I wouldn’t buy a new Mac Mini but this would be a good set up for someone that needs newer hardware. This is because the hardware on the new Mac Mini is very good.
why not go safe with 16GB ram stick ? I recommend for all other to do so. later you can add another 16GB stick. it’s better 16/32 then 20/40 ram.
I’ve got a 2018 Mac mini connected to a 75 inch tv and it never wants to work.have to start from from reset to every time.latest update made it worse.worst Apple product I’ve ever owned.
Sounds like the Mac mini is going into sleep mode once the TV is powered off and you are then having to press the power to wake it up again? You can go into the energy saver settings and disable the sleep options for it to be always on. If you use an Apple Keyboard can try Command+Option+Eject key combination.
I wouldn’t place the Mac mini under a shelf for thermal reasons.
Apple gave a warning not to install Catalina on Mac Mini, i guess you got lucky…
Why? 2000$ can give a lot more performance than this. And what is the point to buy compact device to go dongle life straight after?!
Anybody has upgraded the Mini + eGPU to Catalina?! Any problems? I have a similar setup using 2018 6-core i5 Mini + Razer Core X + RX580 (8GB) and it works flawlessly on Mojave.
Frank A With Catalina, Apple admitted the use of eGPU by allowing the bootscreen of the Mac mini pass through the eGPU and so the external monitor. For more information and examples, you can go to eGPU.io. I’m currently running the latest Beta OS of Catalina on my 2018 MacBook Pro with Core X and Vega 56. Works flawless on MacOS and even Windows 10 September Build
For the eGPU, for the same price you could get a Gigabyte/Aorus gaming box with a RX580, or spend the money on a Razer Core X with Vega 56. But the powercolor rx570 seems to be an overpriced option imo.
Miles, this has been your best video yet. You seem to be getting much more comfortable in front of the camera.
Are the performance on a Mac mini the same than on a windows if I install windows on my Mac ?
