After going hands-on with the Galaxy Z flip, I'm convinced that folding phones are more than just a passing fad. I think that, when the time is right and the technology is mature, Apple should definitely make an iPhone flip. What do you think? Full post:

I like the idea of the Fold better. A phone that transforms into a tablet. The Flip seems unnecessary for me.
Why not both.gif
It would be neat
Make what’s old new again.
You see that weird part in the middle of the screen where the phone folds? Yeah, that’s a big fat no thank you.
I’m not saying go buy the Galaxy Z Flip. Actually, I don’t think anyone should buy this phone. But I’m saying, if and when the technology is ready, should Apple make a flip style iPhone?
Anders Bergqvist I don’t like the idea, because adding a moving part adds something else that can wear out and break down. I have no issue with the portability of my iPhone XR. Don’t think I ever want to go back to the bigger phones, last phone was the 6+ and switching to the XR was amazing, smaller phone but bigger screen. No desire for a flip phone like this at all, I see it as a phone that would have to be replaced more often, and probably have to have less quality screens.
@9to5Mac I’ll be waiting til the whole folding screen tech works like It’s shown on the ‘Nokia Morph’ concept phone 😉
@Stompbox99 I disagree, most phones have a 2-3 year life span. Most people change their phones often.
But the regular consumer don’t care about it.
I remember apple had patented a flip phone a few years ago they are probably in the makes of it but needs perfection
It’s all subjective. I find everything about that thing hideous.

Soon you’re gonna be tired of endless flipping. i don’t see any advantage of flip. just another gimmick.
Please allow us to hear the unwrapping and the snap in the future
This is absurd. Why would I want to fold my iPhone in half. What’s the f*cking point. The idea of unfolding your phone into a tablet makes way more sense than this nonsense
#iFip Sounds Amazing
I think a dual screen smartphone of some sort is definitely in the works in Apple labs.
Eh… No, thanks.
The 2000’s doesn’t need to return just yet, please.
Watching this on my Z Flip and I’m loving it
i don’t think we need flip phone, i apple brought one out am not sure i would by it.
