Smarthome devices are great – but you shouldn't be limited to one ecosystem. Homebridge, and HOOBS specifically, can bring almost any smart device into Apple's HomeKit.

Cool
I have Starling and I love it. It brings google devices into HomeKit. $99.
How about a scrypted guide for cameras…
This is really cool! Thanks Thor!
Tuya Web has a slight delay while Tuya Platform works locally which is a lot quicker and responsive.
Nice video, well explained, looking forward to more.
The homebridge native UI is just as good. I’m struggling to see the purpose of hoobs.
I agree, I also don’t see a point to use this…
Meh… i”ll wait for this to be official.. or i wont do it at al…
I feel like you’ve been listening to my thoughts. Thank you so much for this. I’ve been trying to find a way to do this for weeks.
If you are going to pay 250 dollars for the software why not just buying native HomeKit devices at that price?
Nice video
guys, believe it or not, this worked lol
hello brother , it’s a pleasure to join you. I’m new to hoobs. I just installed one. I have almost 100 shelly quotes and I thought it was easy just a shelly plugin to install on hoobs and it will work. booommm it was not like that. I’m a beginner I’m not an expert, first of all the devices work on a single action if you turn on you can’t turn off. I searched everywhere, and I found that I have to uncheck something like igmp beamforming stuff like that. finally all sombler very well turn on turn off it’s perfect. after a few hours I see no repence, nothing works. I see the router the IP address of hoobs is good .144 I type it on browser site inaccessible. I restart hoobs all function after a few minutes the same problem. I’m sorry it’s very long and thank you very much for your help
One thing people don’t realize is a big reason these devices aren’t certified. That’s because apple requires HomeKit devices to be able to work locally. With these outside devices, if the company goes bust or shut down there servers, ALL those smart devices will no longer work. And that’s sometimes thousands of dollars to replace them.
Really depends on the Device. For example ZigBee Devices. Plug a Zigbee Adapter in the Raspberry PI and than it is local.
They broke it. Ring devices via hoobs no longer show up in homekit 🙁 so frustrating.
on my pi running HOOBS, can it react to an input pin on the pi, say to turn on a virtual switch or something? that would be really cool.
I think you can! I haven’t done it personally, but the GPIO device orpi plugin seems like it could do it.
Does it matter which version of raspberry pie it is
It can. For a basic setup with lights and outlets even a Pi zero could be fine. I used a 2B in my setup, but if you’re using lots of cameras and making use of the processing a newer more powerful pi could be useful.
