  1. I h8 apple. They hide all their flaws by making it 3 times the price it
should be and curving out the edges. They even said that mac is
“virus-proof”. lol. none of their stuff works. I can not name any reason
that I would take mac instead of PC.

  2. @sonpp945 Yes, Microsoft monopolised the market since ’85. The only thing
you need to look at is that PC sales are going down, whilst Mac sales are
going up. Hopefully, if Apple continue with their innovative product line,
the tables will be completely turned in 10 years.

  3. @AVvalia Did you take in consideration having hardware of similar
performance, having a design quit near and similar software included in the
package? Because, from what I saw on the market today, PCs&Mac follow the
law of one price. Add the anti-virus software you need on PC, and it’s
about the same price… Just look for instance at the MacBook, the
competition that is close will be what? Dell XPS M1330? That just 10
dollars of difference for two $1300 machine that are similar…

  4. @imnotaturtle I do like thinking, in case you were wondering. At the time,
I knew that I wanted to get a new laptop and looked into the various
choices. Windows offered Vista, Apple offered Leopard then and Linux I had
actually tried and hadn’t liked too much. As I said, I have never regretted
    that move.

  5. @geoffwoade Oh, really? Find me a tower for $1200 with a Quad-Core Intel
Xeon Nehalem (or equivalent), 3GB ram, 1TB hard drive, 18x double-layer
SuperDrive, ATI Radeon HD 5770 with 1GB GDDR5 (or equivalent), and an OS
easy to run. You said about half the price, that’s about half the price, I
    tolerate $150 over.

  6. @geoffwoade Than you do not account your time, and might use some “pirated
software” and find some part for cheap… If you are serious, you must
account the time spend and every discount 😉 And I’m pretty sure came back
to an approximation of the law of one price: In an efficient market, all
identical goods must have only one price. Consider that Mac are high-end
machine, look at the same performance and count everything – the cost is so
near that personal preferences take the upper hand.

  7. @geoffwoade And, really, are you able to built a baseline mac-pro, with
that exact spec or replacement that are really close in value, for $1000 to
1500, including shipping, a good mouse, a good keyboard but no screen? I
wonder how you will do that, knowing that the processor is like $280 and
the graphic card like 120… How do you get a brand new mothercard, sound
card, an OS, 1tb internal hard drive, USB stuff, and your work under $800?
It might be just a computer, but cash is cash.

  8. I don’t like windows vista but I would much prefer to use a pc with vista
than a mac because windows vista may suck but its much better than mac.

  9. I genuinely love both Windows and Mac, but that did make me laugh, Vista
was pretty bad from my experience, but they pulled it together good again
    with 7 🙂
