I wonder if this is the same chipset as the Mediasonic ProRaid. I recently purchased one of these from Amazon for $60 and I happened to notice the same switch and button interface and similar blinking lights after holding the button. I also happen to have Sandisk SSDs in mine and performance seems very similar.
To my knowledge, Akitio makes a lot of the boards used in these products.
My time capsule backups would zoom lol

Does it support trim?
why you are using Promise Pegasus not the Akitio Thunder3 Quad X?
One reason is that the Promise houses six drives. It’s very nice for video editors. The Quad X is good as well.
but in akitio you can put own drives, not just 4 TB, but more like 8TB and so on
what kind of RAID software you used, RAID-Z Manager from AKiTiO or SoftRAID?
Would be nice without the power cable
Jeff Liu Yoshiyuki power cable is just power power delivery.
Riccardo Merlo ya but thunderbolt 3 / usb 3.1 is it’s own power delivery as well
This looks very much like the Oyen and OWC versions for a two-drive enclosure. Can it bus-power two regular 7200RPM 2.5 hard drives or is that when you need to use the power adapter?
Very nice enclosure. Thanks for another one cool video.
APFS still doesn’t do software RAID…. ?
great bro
thumbs up
Great review. Looks like a handy accessory.
