I have the same issue, but i rather use chrome for my favorite tabs, or collapse tabs to the left at safari an they got an icon an get kept into the tab bar

Another thing that really annoys me about Safari tabs is the way it bunches them all up when you have a load of them. If Apple did the right thing and chucked the Favicons in there, ala Chrome, they could banish that poor UI behaviour while they’re at it!
Good tip. But useless. Favicon should be native. Still on chrome
The weird thing is if you pin a tab in Safari it does show the favicon so the functionality is basically there, it just won’t display them on unpinned tabs. Hopefully the Safari team will change their minds and implement it!
There is a more complicated way to add them pretty sure, disabling SIP and some other crazy method
But but ..
without favcond looks much cleaner.
Pretty ugly hack … I rather hope that Apple will make more use of their monochrome icon system for pinned taps in upcoming versions.
