19. UPDATE: In Feb 2015 the FCC ruling requiring carriers to unlock your phone
    for you went into effect. However, this only applies to phones that have
    completed the 2yr contract, or paid in full via installment plans or
    outright full payment purchase.

    All you have to do is contact the carrier and request an unlock. Each
    carrier has a different process but after you finish the request and
    everything is cleared, they send you an unlock code. For once, the FCC did
    something I actually do like. Cheers :)
