50 Comments on iOS 9 – iPad Multitasking

    • Not that I really care that much but I don’t get why my first generation
iPad Air can’t do split screen.

    • +Roy Milican RAM, mainly. And the A8X is triple core, though that’s not as
      important as the RAM.

    • +Roy Milican The iPad Air 2 is the only iOS device with 2gb of RAM. When
has Apple held back iOS software functionality for no reason?

    • +Dustin N a lot of people don’t know these details, so they are genuinely
confounded. I’d guess that was +Roy Milican’s position.

There are plenty, especially on the internet, who really don’t care, they
just want to put something down that they dislike, but are annoyed that
other people like. I suspect the two people who +1’d him did so for that
      reason.

    • I haven’t been keeping up with Apple hardware recently. I totally
forgot/didn’t know the iPad2 actually had more memory. I was only
remembering they made it thinner (of course) and have the fingerprint
      scanner.

    • +Finnish Spartan they wouldn’t mind because of Microsoft but they do
because of Samsung. Samsung is a different story. Apple’s competitor is
Samsung while Samsung ‘s competitor is the whole market because Samsung
changed the industry and they run the market.

  1. Apple is all about the marketing. Why can’t we have split-screen
multitasking on ipad mini ? As long as the hardware permits, why can’t the
    soft offer ?

    • Nope I have an iPad mini 2, and it only lets me do the thing from the side
of the screen and you could do the movie thing too

    • +Candy Rayne If you have an iPad Air, iPad mini 2, or iPad mini 3, you can
use Slide Over and Picture in Picture, but you can’t use Split View because
those older iPad models are not powerful enough to reliably support two
apps at once. If you have an older iPad, like an iPad 2, an older Retina
model, or an original iPad mini, none of the multitasking features will be
      available.

  2. I am commenting this same complaint! Apple just has to market a higher
priced device just for split screen. And I’m sure millions of people are
pissed right now that they haven’t invested in adding it to some of their
old devices. I myself have an iPad Air. And I’m so annoyed.

  3. When I tried the picture in picture, it got out of YouTube instead 🙁 and
also the using two apps at once doesn’t work for me either 🙁 but I could
do the multitasking thing tho :D

  4. On my iPad Air 2, I am unable to to split screen, I can only do the slide
view that takes up one third of the screen. Anyone else have this problem,
if so, do you have a solution?
