I think this is a good purchase for a parent buying a phone for their kids .
I have an iPhone 11. I picked that over the XR and SE 2020. I got it last April on sale for $350 new. Can’t beat that deal. The SE 2020 was too small for me. The XR was $100 less at $249 but I preferred the 11. You can get an iPhone SE 2020 for less than $149 these days. Even less if you got to Cricket or Metro by T-mobile. So why pay $429? For what exactly. If all you need to do is get into the Apple wall garden, get the 2020 version. Even the XR or 11 can be gotten for less these days.
Why don’t reviewers use non night mode phone’s flash when comparing with night mode phones?
Because both phones have a flash and flash photos will look the same. The difference being highlighted is with the phones ability to adapt in dark lighting without the flash.
In comparing the iPhone 11 and the new SE 3, there’s another hidden fee that becomes the 800-pound gorilla in the room: AppleCare. If you’re inclined to buy AppleCare with a new or Apple-refurbished iPhone, you have to compare the cost of an AppleCare subscription with that iPhone purchase. I haven’t been able to confirm this directly, but I’ve been told that AppleCare for the SE 3 is about $80, whereas AppleCare for the 11 is $150 or possibly more. That really jacks up the package deal for buying either device.
Answer: if price is your primary metric, you should probably just get a much more capable iPhone 11 for $70 more, or pick up a used iPhone 11 for even less.
If price is the primary metric I’d argue the SE3 makes more sense over the life of the phone since the A15 will outlast the A13
@9to5Mac oh for sure! All I mean to do is point out the obvious that a two year old newer iphone will last minimum an additional two years giving you more value for money if you’re purchasing at this point in time.
@RogueHetero It’s not like your phone is going to disintegrate once its software isn’t updated. I have been using a Moto G5S+ with Android 8 until just last month, and I never ran into a single compatibility issue. Even the phone’s Geekbench 5 score of 530 never made it feel “slow”. I’m more than confident that an A13 will easily last 7 years. My current phone (Galaxy S8+) still feels very fast despite it being 5 years old.
Im old school, i just ordered the SE 3 and im happy! Im not a photogenic person so im not worried about the quality or the space! Besides my SE3 fits in my purse! Thanks

@Devil Kazumi Nearly a month later and the battery life is fine. On heavy-use days, I’m only charging it once every 24 hours. It’s a shame that people are writing this phone off so easily.
@SouthernFried19 because a heavy user would drain the phone much faster than you…this phone isn’t designed for heavy usage
@Devil Kazumi Do you own one, because I do. I’m telling you that on heavy-use days.. (10-14 hours of use) it will go on a single charge. I can’t imagine someone being pissed off because they have to plug in their phone once a day for 30-45 minutes.
@SouthernFried19 im not saying the phone is bad if it’s lasting you 24 hours then there’s nothing to complain about….it’s just lots of ppl are more used to a phone with a bigger battery thats all
Would love someone to compare the SE3 with the 12 mini. Similar battery better cameras and definitely better screen and usability magsafe etc. In our country no one really buys these cash. On a 3year contract the 12 mini just costs 1-2 cappuccinos per month more.
The iPhone 11 also has an all screen larger display than the iPhone SE 3.
I like how Apple increases the price only to remove the charger and headphones!

Which also happens to be the same category of people who should save 100 dollars and get a Galaxy A53 which in normal use, is a phone that is multiple times better than the SE 3.
I think the 8 year old design and no night mode kills this phone compared to the iPhone 11. the A13 still stomps on the 8 gen 1 on all flagship androids so the iPhone 11 is a way better budget iPhone imo
A 13 is more powerful than the gen 1 but sadly iphones don’t have much features to actually use that powerful processor so you won’t actually notice it
The SE 3 would be the perfect upgrade. Though I would miss 3D Touch. I’ve been using the same iPhone 7 for almost 5 years.
I’m an Iphone SE user, I was waiting for the SE 2022 release to buy, but I chose a Galaxy instead. The time changes, brands too…

I like the home button, and I also like lots of storage. The SE is the cheapest way to get 256 GB storage in an iPhone.
I was still using a used iPhone 6 until I finally upgraded to the 2022 se.
I switched from Android to my first iPhone, the SE 2022 and really I like it ALOT. I am a tech guy and really phones have just gotten too large, in my opinion, and over time have been getting smaller phones (last Android phone was Pixel 4a5g) and the SE 2022 came out and since I have had a iPad Air 4 for almost a year (which I like SO MUCH) I decided to get a iPhone (wife was excited I switched) and really, too my surprise, like the Apple ecosystem (it has its pros/cons to Android) the Se 2022 is a awesome size for me (yes I could have got a mini but this time I had to go with what the pocketbook would allow). I am still not a fan of faceID and really still like the fingerprintID. Battery wise the SE 2022 really last me all day (my work day starts at 3am in the morning) but then I do not use my phone as a multimedia device (hence the Air 4). Looking forward to the 14 I am disappointed that Apple is just making large phones and not even trying to keep phones, well, pocket size. Hopefully after the release of the 14 apple will surprise us next year with maybe a smaller phone and not something that is ‘Phablet’ size (I mean really the phones today are almost as big as my old Nexus 7 2nd gen).
Couldn’t find the option “View Outside the Frame” that supposed to enable Deep Fusion feature on iPhone SE 3.
