Honestly Davinci resolve for ipad is the happiest thing for me. The update definitely seems boring but I’m going for the 12.9 ipad. It’s gonna be my first time owning one, definitely super excited!!
That’s why I’m excited for it too! But won’t it be available for the M1 too?
You would’ve thought FCP and logic would come to iPad before Davinci. It will be interesting to see how it works
I am looking forward to buying the first ipad which is the Ipad pro M2. Now, I would wait and see.
Originally, I was planning to buy the IPhone 14 as well but I would hold for another year and see what IPhone 15 would bring.
I think they will do a bigger update on iPad Pro later but they just wanted to get full specs before the holidays
Once they sort out external monitor support I will have zero reason to upgrade from my Air 5. If they abandon external monitor support I’ll look to a 12.9 pro with M1 on the used market. In Australia the price bump on pro models is outrageous. For a 12.9 with 512 and a Magic Keyboard it’s north of $3k AUD which is eye watering to say the least.
I am so happy I bought the iPad Pro with 1 Tb a year ago. I was hesitant that it may be better to wait until this release. But Apple gave me great relief that this new release was a nothing burger. It may come down to Apple’s inability to get components for a healthy upgrade. So far there are no apps that challenge my existing iPad Pro. Photoshop CC on the iPad still is not robust enough to seriously edit images. I can do better with my perpetual license for the box set CS6. I am not a professional graphics artist that travels a lot. Even if I were I could remotely connect with my in home Adobe Suite CC. The other iPads are only worthy of the low end user.

hats off to the marketing team in apple…it’s amazing, how they’re able to use old shells and components to make a “new” product with distinct accessories (squeeze every dollar out of the legacy gen 1 pencil while creating a dongle to do it) and ask more money for it, while in parallel create an itch for more informed people to spend a little more for a more premium device. btw the iPad is STILL not laminated
I got my m1 iPad Pro in December 2021, glad I got it and didn’t wait even longer. I’m usually sceptical on using new technology (in this case m chips on the iPad), as I’m unsure of the stability. But I’m glad I didn’t wait almost a year, for basically the same ipad. Hover feature would be nice, but it’s not that important to warrant such a long wait, nor an upgrade from the m1.
What would really suck now however, is if they limited Davichi resolve for iPad, to just the m2 model.
The base 64GB storage is what lets it down and a huge price bump to 256GB
I think the iPad 10th generation looks absolutely stunning with the new redesign I won’t be upgrading to the iPad 10 because I have the iPad 9 And I’m really happy with it
I’ve been waiting a while to upgrade my 10.5” iPad Pro. I use it everyday. Even given your thoughtful review and tepid recommendation I’m in for an upgrade and a trade in of my current iPad.
Last year I went ahead and updated my main computer to the 12.9 2021 iPad Pro 2tb, I use it for video editing, school, surfing the internet and media (Netflix, Hulu etc.) I love the M1 chip and the XDR display is amazing, I personally love how fast the iPad is and that I don’t feel like i will need to update again for another 5 years
You are meant to keep them for about 5 + years lol
I have the M1 iPad Pro, and am constantly frustrated how much the (seemingly deliberate) lack of software support holds it back. So from met perspective, this is like “that’s nice. But you’re still not really making full use of the M1 chip in my current device, why would I need to upgrade to a faster chip?”
Great content, I was going to get the macbook air with the M1 chip a couple of months ago, but decided to give the iPad air M1 a chance, so far I am very pleased with my decision as now I have the latest iPad air and my new computer all in one device, I just got the keyboard case my bluetooth mouse and done, I am able to do all my work in the iPad air no problem I work mainly on graphic design and some heavy use for the office suite besides some content consumption, I love it!
