1. This guy got some big hands if he can grip it with just one hand.

   • His big hands make the iPad look like a iPad mini.

2. I’ve never had an iPad and I just order one of this, I think it has a good entry-price

   • gmcnewlook I bought mine in December, would’ve bought an iPad Pro, but it wasn’t worth the extra $200 for me

   • Joshua Barrera same, I toyed with the idea with getting the pro, but yeah that extra 200 was a hard sell, aside from the better processor, i don’t need the stylus support, don’t need a keyboard etc…..

   • gmcnewlook even with that you need to pay for those things anyways, I have a laptop so my tablets are my computers that don’t weigh a load and last a long time off one charge

   • Joshua Barrera yup, If I’m. Going to spend that kind of money on a tablet I could a) get a surface pro or b) get a nice laptop I use my iPad when i travel or don’t want to lug a laptop around, for what I use an iPad for its good enough

   • gmcnewlook I was thinking the same thing, at least the surface comes with a pen and is more useful

3. Not incentive enough to upgrade my iPad Air 2

   • But enough incentive to get myself a cheap iPad for the first time. Put it in perspective 😉

   • mrk107 lol the difference in performance between the 2 SoC’s is barely noticeable.

   • I don’t get why everyone is complaining about the screen not being laminated.Apple doesn’t repair lamented screens so if if you accidentally drop your “laminated” iPad down the line then you gotta pay $300 for an Out of Warranty Replacement.98% of 3rd party repairman do not have the skills or means to repair the “Laminated screen”,The iPad Air 2 is a prime example of this situation.I repair and customize smart devices and I remember not long ago how big of a problem this was for people.There was a YouTube video of a guy actually repairing one and he was very clumsy and unskilled and Charged his customer MORE THAN AN OUT OF WARRANTY REPLACEMENT OF $329!!!!
     So for most people this is a blessing in disguise.
     I love the review however.

5. For apple this is as close as you will get to budget. In day to day use for the average person I still think my iPad air 2 is more feature rich and runs plenty fast enough. You really would have to come from an iPad 2 for this to be worth it.

   • 9to5Mac Depends if your a bit of a tech person. Old ipads generally run better then Android over time. Don’t matter how we look at this….. it’s a recycled ipad air with updated chip set and touch ID and more storage. However…… it’s a very good use of aging technology from the apple camp. I have no doubt this will sell given its price point. I think it’s a winner but more tech savvy buyers might steer clear on understanding what it actually is they are looking at.

   • Tristan Howden Well we currently use the ipad 4 Daily ik scool and it’s pretty slow. The Main readon tho is the small amount of ram.

6. Damn that non-laminated display looks awful even on video, so washed out!

   • Yup, It’s sad that this display meets or passes most none iOS tablets in this this price range paired with a fast modern processor and fast eMMC storage. You can pay almost double and not edit 4k video much faster on a similar form factor mobile device.

   • 9to5Mac can you please, do galaxy s8 vs galaxy s edge 7? I want to know if i should update. now, samsung is doing $100 off on the galaxy s8 through samsung website silver color t-mobile.

16. I still use my iPad Air 1 every day and it still works fine the only thing is I have almost filled up the 32gb of storage.
