I want to know who the f*ck has so much time on their hands to accidentally
stumble on this? Do you ppl seriously set your iPhones and iPads to Jan 1
1970 for fun? What prompts someone to even think about trying something so
‘unrewarding’? Time is your most priceless commodity. You apparently have
way too much of it.
+TheClearCloud there’s a picture on twitter saying if you set your iphone’s
date to his it will give it a retro feel
Blame boredom
+TheClearCloud That’s like asking why people would intentionally try and
find bugs in Facebook or Google’s websites – it’s so that if there are any
bugs, they can fix them. Some bugs are triggered through the most crazy
ways, but companies still need to fix them to avoid any issues.
Yes i do…
In school i mean.
This is so useful. I’ve always been wanting to crash my phone.
ikr
I so useful because a spoofed (malicious) Wifi public network can do the
same thing without you notice: “update” your calendar to 01/01/1970.
So your bateries goes over (no that hard the iPhone battery life is…
Well, you know about), you charge it at home and… No boot! 🙂
Thanks iClarified! Now I’ll brick my iPhone 5s and get my parents to buy me
a 6s.
My parents would say “oh well you aren’t getting a new one”
+Matteo Calandrini thanks
+Vikas DP lol
+simontay1984 shitty android only goes back to 2000. Get your fucking facts
right.
u noob
so if i do this will apple give me a new iPhone 6
Actually don’t take it to the store, take it to a nearby phone fixer. It
costed me $20 to get it fixed
You can do it yourself for free..
+BananiaMan™ You “can” do it yourself…*IF you can manage not to break the
phone when opening it* (good luck with that)!
+TheEndTrend Did it plenty of times. Not a big deal.
LIE!!!! Its a way to jailbreak ios 9.1 and 9.2!!!!! EVERYONE DO THIS TO
RECEIVE JAILBREAK FROM PANGU TEAM!!! LIKE AND REPOST ME!
+AKzebraMiner it’s just work. Pangu devs somehow put this hack into apple’s
firmware. I have jb on my ios 9.2. Luca Todesco did jb this way also!!!
+GlassedUA that’s not how the world works… U can’t hack into everyone’s
software.. It’s just not possible. U are the only one who is saying this
while other people are saying not to do this in other videos… stawp lying
+AKzebraMiner i thought it would be funny if someone believe. But everyone
just to smart …
In case someone do this thing – u just need to power off motherboard to
reset time.
+AKzebraMiner u win, robin good…)
+GlassedUA 🙂
nice, guys lets go to the shops, and brick all phones!!!!!!
fun!!!
Just done it on my country
+Shouted LoL me to
gonna try it with one of those iphones the next time i go to a close by
retailer
+awesomegamer5000 or codyisawesome3 film it
*It’s not a bug, It’s a functionality*
It is bug…
The time is like bits (64 of them)
When they go to 0 and some app or anything else tries to check that calls
messages or any data bofore that time it bugs. So the time would basically
go to negative.
+Adit Seth i know that i dont get it 😀
But does it matter its bad anyways.
now what am I supposed to use when I travel back to 1970 in my delorean?
Go to Jan 2nd
+Mark Summers i get the reference but here’s what will happen:
nothing.
by going to the time in Doc’s delorean time machine before computers had
the ability to keep time would ultimately destroy the flux capacitor and
short circuit every mechanical aspect of the machine.
This happens because of the timezone. If it’s earlier than GMT +0, it will
brick.
+Aftermath Music Nah. It’s more than that.
+Aftermath Music I am GMT+2. And it still bricked
.
WOOIOOOOOOOOOOOW
Wut
Does it affect if your has been set once, but returned to the normal date
and never was rebooted? Because my friend did that to my iPhone and I don’t
want a broken phone.
Please answer ASAP. :
Thanks.
+Jonas Páll Gudmundsson update?
It doesnt
+Jonas Páll Gudmundsson take it to apple and they will replace it
I’m laughing hard at the people who say that this bug is not possible,
because after all, it’s Apple. I’m not promoting Android nor Windows. I’m
just saying that you shouldn’t be stuck up with thinking that a single
brand will not have bugs and will solve all of your problems.
Its not possible on 32 bits but it is on 64 bit phones
+EZIC What I mean is I feel pity yet cringe-y for the people who whine that
stuff like this should not happen because their devices were made by Apple.
I know that this only works on iPhones with 64-bit processors, but the
issue here is that many Apple device users think that it should not happen
because it’s made by Apple. It’s very illogical.
If the battery runs out, doesn’t it set itself to the year 1970 by default?
(Google ‘iphone/ipod locked/disabled for 21 million minutes’ for what
happens if you put in the wrong passcode in too many times and the battery
then runs out).
Would this also brick the iphone/ipod or does the time have to be manually
set??
It doesnt do that
I feel so bad for the apple stores, all those Display iPhones bricked in a
infinite loop.
you lit the bulb on top of my head buddy >:)
+Agent700 I can totally see Bart Simpson doing this.
Bricked 5 iphones at Apple Store. This is so much fun
Will it brick my iPod Touch 5th Generation?
Try 😀
no because it uses an a6 processor and only works with a7+
actually just put the phone in the fridge for an hour or two
this is caused by the unity ehep cuz now1092919910191818181819288
