1. I really like Macs and OS X but this particular MacBook is too underpowered
   for the price

   • It’s just prejudice. There are plenty examples on Youtube videos says New
     MB rocks. Power is not about hardware but software and apples proved that
     numerious time.

   • +Spawn I completely agree about that but it still runs the same OS just
     like every other Mac. It’s not specially optimized for that laptop so its
     performance is probably worse than some older MB Pros or smth like that

   • Well, it’s not considered to be a “pro”fessional working machine like the
     MacBook “Pro”, the portability influences the price. Performance is quite
     spectacular for such a little form factor, therefore I think that the price
     is absouletly justified.

2. The default resolution of 15″ MacBook pro isn’t 1440×900, that’s for the
   13″ Macbook air! The 15″ Pro has 2880×1800!

   • Apple don’t even say that’s an option on MBPr

   • It is an option( lower than default) on the MBPr 13 tho

   • +RyanGames – partnered with FREEDOM! HiDPI = native resolution divided by
     2, hence 1440×900. This is the DEFAULT resolution for the 15″ MacBook Pro.
     You’re confusing native with default.

     set is an option

     it’s divided by 4

5. Yes jeff, but isn’t it way better to purchase a low-end MacBook pro for
   1299, the same exact money for a way way better mac??

   • Way better? It depends on who is it for

   • Depends on the purchases definition of “way way” better. For me, “way way”
     better implied retina + lightness, therefore I bought a MacBook. A 2lb
     laptop is incredible. When I walk around with it in a backpack I truly do
     not notice it. That for me is “way way” better.

     article). Yes, a single USB-C connection.

11. For me you hit it right on the nose. Everything you mentioned about the
    Macbook are the things I love about the device. That would be the low
    profile, the fact you have the portability of a tablet but the productivity
    of a laptop. I take mine wherever I go and for school this is perfect for
    my Masters program ….and when paired with my jailbroken iPhone the
    joining is perfect :)

13. So I currently have a Mid 2012 MacBook Pro, with a 2.9 GHz CPU. I love my
    laptop, but there are two things about it I don’t like. The size, and the
    display. I can’t remember the last time I used the disk drive, or any port
    besides the charging port. I wish it was super thin and lite. And then
    there is the display. It’s not bad by any means, but when I’m mainly
    watching YouTube and surfing the web, I wish it were a lot better. Would
    the new MacBook be a good upgrade? My biggest fear is performance. I have
    had this laptop for three years, and I have had no performance issues
    really. It’s snappy at everything I need it to do. Would the new MacBook be
    noticeably slower? Thats my biggest fear, buying a computer that is slower
    than the one I currently own.

    • +gio c Don’t bother with the MBA (I have a 2014 model.) Save your money for
      the 13″ rMBP

14. i believe that the macbook air is better ! way more better

    • CPU and battery yes, portability and screen, no. The retina display and
      design just make the air look old in comparison imo.

16. Nice video. If youd like to hear my two cents, I think the MacBook air is
    where the sweet spot is. Powerful core i5 and i7 processors, 8GB ram, very
    fast SSD’s with capacities up to 512GB, options between 11 and 13 inch
    screen, all day battery life ANNNDDD its very portable. Before I bought my
    13 inch macbook air I was considering the new MacBook but its just less
    power for what you pay for it.

17. I honestly wouldn’t mind having only 1 port and spending money to buy
    adapters IF the actual MacBook weren’t priced so damn high. Everything on
    it seems perfect for me EXCEPT the price. Ugh Apple don’t you already have
    enough money?
