Early Gang!
It’s back…
I wish I could keep my lights on longer than 4 hours. They go on at sundown but in the winter they turn off when I’m wide awake. Also wish they could dim as the night goes on.

The Home+ app will let you set an off time up to 24 hours after a device is turned on.
Don’t use the “turn off after” feature. Create a separate automation that turns them off based on a time. You can also create a separate automation(s) to dim them

Be aware that you can no longer use an iPad as a home hub. Apple eliminated that option. Also, using a free standing button to turn on smart bulbs works great but does not solve the problem of people turning off your dumb switches. A much better option is to use one of the button types that can actually be mounted in place of a dumb switch. If you use Philips Hue bulbs the Lutron Aurora is a great option but there are others as well.
@9to5Mac Okay. First I have heard of this. Thanks for pointing it out. Even so for anyone who really wants to use HK the iPad is really not much of an option. Even if declining functionality is not an immediate issue the option to set it up as a hub does go away once you migrate to the new architecture (which is what they likley are referring to when they talk about depreciation) which will come back sooner rather than later.
Uh my iPad can be used for a home hub tho so they can, only the newer models. My old iPad (6th gen) didnt work, but my new one (air 4) can
I’d actually recommend just taking out the old switch entirely, capping the wires, and sticking the first party Hue Dimmer switch over the existing switch box. This of course only works with a single gang box, however.

@Daniel Morelli That is exactly what I did except that I used the Lutron Aurora instead. Since I have decora style wall switches you don’t put them over the switch. I also have a 3-gang box so this was my best option.
I’ve replaced most the light bulbs and drop lights in my apartment with Phillips Hue smart lights, while also replacing the switches with Hue smart switches. It works great, I can change the colour of my lights and never have to worry about anyone touching the light switches.

Unfortunately based on the way Apples memory and storage are soldered in place there isn’t really a way for users to upgrade it after the fact.

..I upgraded to Apple Music… and wow, just wow.
Apple Music with Spatial Audio (surround sound music via Dolby Atmos) is a night and day improvement.
Spotify 2-channels is like home theater in the 90s with 2 front speakers or DVDs, whereas Spatial Audio is like today’s home theater with 13 speakers and Dolby Atmos/DTS:X and 4k physical disc movies. It’s a night and day improvement.
I compared the song ‘Senorita by shawn mendez and camila cabello’ in Apple Spatial Audio versus 2-channels Spotify and it was a night and day improvement.
In my Corvette with Apple Carplay (and an aftermarket wireless Apple Carplay adapter from Amazon), Spotify now sounds so so so bad (sounds like a cassette as if there’s a blanket over my speaker) versus Apple Music’s clarity and dynamic range. I didn’t know what I was missing!
The song with the most night and day difference is: Y Volvere by Lucero (female vocalist). In Spotify, there’s a lot of crackling noises because Spotify can’t capture the full wavelength, whereas there’s no crackling in Apple Music and the notes are higher.
