Every year apple improves on iMessage and adds features that the users want. A few years back apple showed off message effects that can be added to any message but did you know there are some secret ones?

I hope they make more like Merry Christmas should bring up a Christmas Tree effect
So cool. Why have I never seen this??
First of all this video literally came out on my birthday and 2 friends iMessaged me a happy birthday and they potentially had the balloons effect automatically go off
Second of all Apple CAN LET YOU CUSTOMIZE the effects to use with more than just those particular phrases and add new effects to what somebody else pointed out in this thread
My example of an effect customization
Say you’re watching a ⚾️ matchup and your team hits a home run you should be able to set the fireworks effect to trigger when you type “home run” and the fireworks effect plays when you send that iMessage
Oh wow, I didn’t know about these. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
I remember the laser effect used to play a rave song
Would like to know if one can set up their own automatic message effects tied to certain phrases.
I’ll be sure to tell nine year olds about this.
I always pronounced “gif” like “gift” but apparently the creator of the gif standard said it’s pronounced “jif” so that’s what I try to go with now.
Just because you’re a brilliant inventor does not mean you’re any good at branding.
@Errgo Seven nope… but you still get to name your creation.
I pronounce the G in GIF like the G in “graphics,” as in Graphics Interchange Format…
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Happy Eid and Eid Mubarak also trigger an animation
there’s one that you missed. if you type Eid Mubarak (celebrating the muslim festival of Eid), it actually sends a shooting star which is unavailable with any other message effect. Really inclusive of Apple!
I learned that the secret message tricks work with voice dictation, too.
