Hi
super excited to try this. thank you for the video Jeff!!!!!
Mentioned in post but not demo’d on video… captions connect to video and audio clips, and travel with those clips as you rearrange your cut. Super handy.
How the hell turns skimming *_OFF_* in the timeline (or ever)??!!
4:26 hoy do you that movement so flow ??
and this video has no english closed captions. lol.
Can you convert text to captions?
cea 608 If you set it to a language other than English, it will not output properly. For example, if you use Korean, you will see a square block and you can not see the letters.
Great video. To bad Siri couldn’t listen to the sound track and auto create captions on the fly.
Well… in all likelihood, Siri would respond: “Sorry, I did not get that”
It is so useful information which we should know. Thank you for inform it for us.
i like the” export to YouTube” feature most. i always did an seperate subtitle file and upload it parallel to the video. this new workflow is much faster ❤️
Can you fix the overlapping issues by changing the placement of one of the captions?
I love these videos. Thanks for making them.
When you upload with captions to YouTube, do they automatically show at the bottom of your video or can the viewer elect to see them or not? And if you can elect to see them, how do you do it?
Define Irony: Videos about how to Close Caption in Final Cut Pro X that aren’t Closed Captioned.
Great video, thanks – just wondered, can you export an H264 video from FCPX with the captions embedded/ overlaid? I deliver self contained mp4’s so there is no option to export with captions embedded – but I like the captioning workflow – so I wonder if this is possible.
Also, any way to change font, font sizes etc, I cant see a way to do that?
my friend, that is called “Open caption”, essentially is a “burn-in” caption with video that viewer cannot switch off as it shown along with the clip. My way of doing is: 1) type out the whole caption for a video, one line, one script (using text editor or whatever); 2) Use an APP called “Aegisub”, to time each caption along with the video, then output as SRT file format; 3) using an APP called Finalsrt, to output an XML file for your project within FCPX. Afterall, you will have the serial of title shown in your clip of the project within FCPX. 🙂 hope it helps.
wow not bad!! I tried it but still like doing my own subtitles
