2. I’ve been postponing this purchase for years, but I feel that the right
   time has come. Thanks for this convincing vide, Jeff.

4. This does look very simple to set up, I just really wish that you could
   measure the places that you need to put the strips and order them by
   measurement that would be ideal. To be able to put them everywhere I want
   to in my house and have to cut and waste is just not worth it for me.

5. I’m definitely a big fan of the Hue LightStrip Plus. I have a couple of
   them here in the house, and the HomeKit compatibility is fantastic.

6. I was looking for a LED strip recently and naturally the Hue came to mind.
   But that huge power brick was a no go. I got a USB powered LED strip
   instead. It’s not as nice and no App control but it was not even $20 so
   it’s OK.

     brightness, it’ll just stay the same color it had when he first connected it

13. This lightstrip is seriously overprized.. Like 10 times more than it
    should’ve been. The only thing which drives the cost so crazy is the
    software. Philips are quite greedy. I love the HUE, I have 3 bulbs and the
    Go lamp, but this strip is just too much for what it is. For this kind of
    setup (behind desk) a cheap one will do. I previously bought a 1 meter USB
    powered for my TV and placed it underneath (because I don’t have a wall
    behind the TV 🙂 ) and it has a built-in remote – 3 buttons for changing
    colour, brightness and speed (blinking or still). I think to get the same
    one for my desk, because I think there’s little point of HUE integration
    for a desk. Ah, and I’ve already placed one of the bulbs behind my iMac for
    accent light 🙂
    What I don’t like about the philips lightstrip (apart from the price) is
    the huge adapter. Why they made it so big when it’s just powering LED
    lights?

15. Hi Jeff! Do you know the Xiaomi Yeelight Smart Light Strip? It has the same
    length but it’s 1/3 of the price. I recommend to check it out (
    http://www.gearbest.com/smart-lighting/pp_424884.html). HomeKit not
    supported but IFTTT is.

17. Just bought the Tap switch this week, it is expensive but integrates
    perfectly with HomeKit and Philips customer support was easy to deal with
    when one of my bulbs died. My biggest complaint with them would be the Hue
    app for iOS. The older app, which is still available on the store, has 3
    times the functionality of the new app. You can’t do basic tasks with the
    new app like create scenes or adjust brightness of the built-in scenes.
