Complicated, love the old slide to unlock. Looks like apple has lost it’s
simplicity.
I disagree I believed that sliding to unlock was useless when we have the
sensor on the home button …
+Shamur Stewart the gist is it will break faster than the prev ios version
due to more frequently usage of clicking on the home button.. u clear?
+Moist Gnome it’s not just that. In general Apple is losing the simplistic
image they have kept for years.
+Muriyanto Muriyanto The gist is that you’re struggling with the English
language and clearly cannot understand my point that that’s not a proper
conclusion to draw. Are “you” clear?
Get over yourself
Hate it hate it hate it. Now I am forced to press the already worn out home
buttons on my iPhone and iPad to unlock my device. So stupid. I can’t wait
for Apple to ditch the physical home button and replace it with something
that won’t worn out so easily.
once change home button , touch id will not work for that price
“The analysts report that the iPhone 7 will feature a “Force Touch Home
button” that sits flush with the rest of the phone. In addition to offering
a more clean design, a Home button that doesn’t actually move will mean
that there’s one less physical part that could fail. The Home button has
always been a point of pain for iPhone users and Apple Geniuses alike, and
this could be Apple’s way of looking to reduce Genius Bar visits.”
Rejoice! It’s happening <3
There is a workaround NOT to press the home button at all. I’m
avoiding pressing it at all cost so I figured out some ways. One of
course is to click and swipe to the left on any notification on the lock
screen which will prompt you to enter the passcode/or simply touch the
touchID ring to unlock the device, after that I just force touch on the
left edge to invoke the multitasking view and go to homescreen after
that. But notifications are not always available so what I
actually do is to slide to the right to get to the widgets screen, and
when I click on the Weather icon it will trigger the passcode, enter it
or touch the Touch ID and it will take you to the Weather app, force
touch to multitask and go 🙂 Sounds complicated but no it takes me 2
seconds to do it
You make sense, and all of that can be done quickly, especially once it
becomes a habit and muscle memory starts taking over. But my question is
why the need to avoid simply pressing a single button? Also, why not just
use AssistiveTouch, can’t you get into the device when that feature is
turned on?
The home button is the weakest thing on iPhones, its mechanical and easy to
get faulty, I had mine damaged and became unresponsive on my iPhone 5 and I
couldnt sell the iPhone back then due to this, I always sell and buy the
new models. I dont use AssistiveTouch or so cuz I dont like to have such
things appear on my screen
I’m happy cuz the iPhone 2017 might get rid of it and be replaced with
capacitive button/force touch instead built into the screen, with probably
the TouchID ring embedded as well, so bye bye mechanical home button haha
Damn, what if the home button get broken?
+Brendan Teske replace it and cost more $$. yep replaced mine for
rm750(usd200) just for that stupid button
remember you can fix your iPhone yo any cheap 3rd party shop unless you
want your phone to get brick. you need to send it to apple store with
“premium price”
You can use assistive touch.assistive touch works on lockscreen 🙂
Don’t worry, Apple will gladly sell you a new device.
Touch ID if you have a device with it
This is easily the best video detailing the lock screen in iOS 10. Great
job!
Jeff is the best.
Enjoy the videos but the announcement of the next item or subject is a down
for me. I feel it’s not really necessary
+EliteHitmanX ok
ok
i remember when you were on idownloadblog
It sucks, especially the notifications in one app display separately.
Never have been a fan of notifications by time. Since you could also see
the time if it’s by app
u can set notifications to be shown app-wise even now from settings
swipe up to unlock should be included
That would be the best way for them to go about it. Worn down home buttons
are already an issue, this will just increase the issue.
That was EXACTLY my thougt.. but Apple may did not use this, because some
“dumb” people wouldnt be clear about swiping up to unlock the phone or to
trigger Control Center.. ^^
Does AssistiveTouch shows on the lock screen? If so can you unlock by using
the home button (set up on the AssistiveTouch) instead of pressing the
physical button just so the home button doesn’t wear out?
Yes
Music on lock screen looks ugly .too big buttons
that’s good for adult hands with adult sized fingers
It helps when driving. And in general the lockscreen controls have always
been too small and always cause me trouble.
Same here. It was always hard to get the volume toggle in the lock screen.
Should I download iOS 10 or wait?
I think the IOS 10 is specifically designed for IPhone 6 and newer so it
will perform better than the older device and also, wait for the public
released
ios10 september
You shouldn’t even update to it once it’s officially released, unless you
have an 6S or 6S Plus, it’s pretty crap, everything new is terrible except
the Music app enhancements.
HOW WOULD YOU KNOW IOS 10 IS NOT OUT YET DONT EVEN TELL ME BATA OR JAILL
BRAKE
+Robin Lee Wuo Bing when the public beta is released, will be it stable
enough to run smoothly without big bugs or glitches? I have a 6s
New Lockscreen is great! I would like to see a dark mode or more
transparent widget though.
Ya looks like garbage
You can change it to a dark setting you know right? Lol you can take the
transparency off
Transparency off =/= dark mode.
Everything looks nice except the unlocking part. Make it mandatory that
Touch ID should be enabled by the user and just by touching the home
button, the phone should unlock. No pressing of the home button. Worn down
home button is already an issue, Apple.
Disagree, bro. Apple’s home buttons really sucks and constantly get wear
out. This is in no way an advance step, but a step back. Unless they’re
willing to pay is the repairing fee Everytime. In that case ios 10 would be
just great.
Can the notification privacy be controlled fully like Android?
+thebayareapimp well it sounds like it can’t do it. So please explain how
it can.
+Michael H I gave the answer above on “how”. Lol.
+Madi Saalam that displays the sender’s name and therefore not like
Android. “Lol”.
+Michael H Okay, goodnight.
Hey Jeff just came across this channel I subscribe & liked this video
+Pavel Mixlove thanks 🙂
I love the new lock screen but i don’t like the press home button thin
*thing
Me too. I like slide to unlock better cause there is less likely of an
accidental unlock in the pocket, especially if there is pass code set up.
Also it brings me back to the good old days of the original iPhone.
When is IOS10 available.
iOS Dev Beta is out. Public Beta coming July. Full Update coming with
iPhone 7 on September.
Thanks
Ugh the unlock concept is horrible :/ What if the home button breaks???
You can then use the software home button, which can be accessed on the
lock screen.
I bought 6s cause I don’t want to press the home button or do extra steps
when unlocking.
How do you access apple pay on the lockscreen now?
