At this point a new Siri voice is almost like an insult. There are so many other more important things about Siri that they need to fix. For one thing they really, really need to bring back the photo search function through Siri. Those of us with many photos found it very helpful. Now she doesn’t do it at all.
You know there’s a search bar in photos hey?
@Pat Fraser So it’s become obvious that you don’t know how to manually search without asking Siri to do it for you?? Wow….
@Pat Fraser agree. Siri was first, now worst, almost. They advertise raise to wake Siri on watch n it never works. Another topic, kinda; would love to see reminders merge with calendar, like google cal. For some reason Siri understands remind prompt better than schedule or add event. My point; google assistant adds reminders to the top of its cal n moves it to the next day if not completed. Simple n very useful for me.
@The Good Guy that isn’t true and you should not always assume. I know perfectly well how to search my photos without using Siri my point is I would rather use Siri, just as the initial functionality used to be. I question why they would have taken that away. Apple always seems to want to do things to make your experience on your device faster, even only a few seconds faster. Faster and more useful to those who need accessibility features for example using voice instead of typing out a request. Knowing this, they used to have that functionality but they took it away. They also removed other functionality from Siri that was useful. Why? Not yet another type of voice until functionality returns! Certainly searching photos with Siri and therefore voice is faster than typing it out. Please stick to the initial point. That is, the depletion of established Siri features.
I think having more personalization to Siri is nice. Apple is behind with assistants due to their privacy policies, too. Can’t learn if you don’t have info. Lol
I love the new voice I think that’s awesome. I wish I mean I hope that comes out with the public release
I was using the ‘diverse’ male voice for Siri on my HomePods for months. Then I realised I was barking commands at a ‘diverse’ sounding voice assistant.
The ‘diversity’ had a reverse effects in practice.
I changed the Siri voice back to the default male voice soon after the realisation.
Is good to see 9to5 making every beta video but if you can do it much earlier will be better, maybe 1-2 hours after the release? Especially for small updates beta
It takes time to find the new features & then do a video & edit.
Apple doesn’t lay out everything new in their betas (unfortunately)
There is a couple of channels do them quickly but often miss heaps of new features
Use them for my keys, walet. Those who are interested in hurting others will do and use anything that will help them. They had use some type of tracking before AirTags. Apple is doing the best they can. What about those companies that also have some type of device such as SmartTag and others! Talk about them beside Apple.

This update just made airtags worthless to me. Now my family can’t shut off the warning when I lend them something or I’m out of town. I don’t mind the user ID warning that I own it and then let them shut it off. Without the ability to shut off the warning sales will tank. They are throwaways now.
Especially as you can’t share your airTags with your family with apple’s family features. Makes it annoying to have airTags in your household.
I think Apple has not only the best implementation of an item tracker as well as the burden of being a highly recognizable brand. It is what it is and I love my AirTags no less. I have only one request from @Apple. Allow family sharing of tags. As the tech head of the house I set them up but no one else in the family can track items like bikes or backpacks without coming to me. We want to share our tags. That’s it! If they do that it would make tags infinitely more useful. Great vid! Thanks!
I’m using Aussie female voice. Don’t judge me! Also anyone having trouble with voicemail tab disappearing from Apple Watch phone app? When I updated to 8.5.2 it fixed it….for a short while. It then disappeared again. Using Watch 7. Confused.
Apple IS taking a step IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION with the warning about the fact that AirTags are associated with your Apple ID
I STILL THINK they SHOULD ALLOW YOU TO SET HOW LONG it takes for your iPhone to alert you that an unknown AirTag is following you to AS LOW AS 5 minutes

Great idea, but that the cancels being able to use the tags to track would be thieves.
Hide an AirTag on your $1000 bike, and it gets stolen.
After 5 minutes the thief gets a notification that an AirTag is moving with him…..
@Sacha Alleyne no solution is perfect BUT criminals aren’t always that smart and leave some damning evidence that gets them caught
That neon so close to the iPhone screen (set in dark mode) is very annoying in HDR. It feels like looking directly to a light when trying to see something dark.

You should be asked if any other user uses your location to track their airtag every time it happens. That is very inconvenient, but that is the only safe way.

The new Siri voice sounds interesting. I’ll have to use this on Voiceover once the general releace comes out, assuming MacOS and IOS should have it. In the mean time, I’m using Siri Vice 2 Australia.

@Trifecta Expeditions So I’ve heard. No matter though. Me being blind I love voice options when they come to devices. I may still test the new voice when it arrives.

I’ve been using Siri Voice 2 since it came out. I like it, but when giving directions, it sounds like it’s saying, “TUN LEF” instead of “turn left”, and a few other cases of dropped letters here and there. OG Siri used to mispronounce certain state names, too: OO-tUh instead of You-taw.
I stopped using Siri, it kind of sucks compared to other voice assistants.
How do you get the white background and multicolour text for Siri 1:06 ?
The AirTag is great! My 80 year old mom uses it it to track my 90 year old dad because he doesn’t use a cell phone and he gets in his car and drives around town to visit friends or visit his garden in the country or at small garden jobs he still does. So now she feels more comfortable knowing where he is. She can also go get him know when he forgets about his doctor appointments!
