When apple actually releases things. They generally aren’t bug ridden gimmicks *cough* google hand gestures.
iPhone 11 processor is still stronger then the tensor chip. I think Google is just better when it comes to thing like this. But it’s great to see iPhones getting smarter
Also a good test to show how far ahead Google is. Presumably due to tensor, it could only get better with time.
I had the pixel 6 pro and didn’t have as good a experience with voice-to-text as others seem to. I have the 13 Pro Max now and voice-to-text has been working fairly well so far. I can’t tell if it’s better than Google this early, though.

I love my Google Pixel 6 Pro it’s a beast and faster than ever
I moved from an iPhone to a Pixel 6 after hearing all the great stuff about voice to text dictation as, being blind, I rely on it a lot. Unfortunately, I did not have the same experience that other users have had. Although I liked a lot of what I found in Android the dictation was not as good as my old iPhone 10’s abilities. Perhaps it’s better with an American accent but after six months, I had to give my Pixel 6 away and go back to a much easier to use iPhone. I really wanted to move to Android with it’s more reasonably priced range of devices too but the experience was far too buggy.
I want to the 10th generation iPad for Christmas. It’s in December 31, 2022. This was the year to actually just I was 16 and I have it on my new iPad moves out of my iPad 6th generation in a really love the enhanced dictation.
Well it’s just the first beta, so hope you’ll do another comparison when it actually releases!
I have no doubt Google is ahead when it comes to voice dictation. Siri has always been kinda wonky by comparison. HOWEVER I totally agree! This is the first beta! Maybe it will be much, much better at launch.
Honestly, I don’t know if Apple can catch up to Google’s voice dictation service. Having now used the pixel 6 devices for a while, the voice dictation is simply unmatched. I don’t understand how they are able to detect anything and everything that we are saying so accurately.
I have always been a Galaxy fan but with Pixel 6 dictation I’m finding it hard to go back even though most of the things are better on the Galaxy phone. In my opinion, it’s just Google software that is hooking me and of course the voice dictation. I dislike traditional texting. It’s slow and cumbersome.
@A-Terrible-Fate It is. Honestly I would love my phone to just read my mind and not even have to use my voice, but we’re still very far from that. One day perhaps.

I also hope Google does the feature where you can correct manually whilst still dictating. I like to continue dictation whilst correcting errors in the passages at the same time and Google does not work well with that train of thought. I hear that Apple does this but having not tested the beta yet I am being presumptive that it does, and that it works well.
Google’s dictation is pretty smart though and is remarkably precise compared to my current iPhone iOS 15.5.

One thing that has really drawn me back to my Pixel 6 instead of my Samsung Galaxy s22 ultra is the great Google Assistant integration and the voice text /dictation. Samsung phones have atrocious, Google integration and voice to text. Samsung needs to pick up their game with voice. Dictation.
well on pixel ^ you can do more with just the dictation. Undo,delete, Send , Clear etc.. + Switching fields in emails
On the Pixel 6 you can double tap the mic icon and it’ll keep listening forever until you stop it.
The pixel is so amazing with speech to text. For the longest I’ve said Apple absolutely sucks at it. It seems that in the last few months and it’s gotten a lot better? Maybe in preparation for iOS 16?
I think they should update the voice control feature on iPhone cause you can say like the Name of the emoji and it will put it but it won’t put commas or anything after saying something it would be nice to have that dictation feature with voice control that’s voice control that’s the only other update I’m thinking they need to do Especially if you don’t want to use the dictation on your keyboard in the messages app or really any app with the new dictation in IOS16 they should have added it to voice control I mean maybe it is there but it’s not there and Ios 15 obviously Unless they added it to voice control and Ios 16 secretly and nobody knows About it yet and if they didn’t and they didn’t update voice control well then they need to Fisher do it in a point 1 update to IOS 16 or Next year with IOS 17

Pretty sad that the Pixel doesn’t recognize “google” or “pixel” as products/company, needing capitalization…. but the iPhone does for both categories from both companies.
Great video. I use speech to text a lot dictating notes on site for reports so it was really helpful.
My speech to text stopped working last Saturday and I have tried everything to fix the issue apart from erase all settings and content, must definitely a bug in the system
I have to say it is better on the iPhone in terms of when it cuts you off like you said it takes 30 seconds until it stops listening for you to speak so you can gather your thoughts and what not I just tested it out this time now on the iPhone XS Max I don’t know if it’s the same With newer phones but on the iPhone XS Max it takes one minute for it to go away. I’m not sure if that’s the same for newer iPhones but for sure on the iPhone X max from 2016 with iOS 16 it takes a minute until it goes away. Maybe that will be changed in iOS 17 as well. It will probably take two minutes for it to go away who knows or maybe it will stay at one minute because that’s long enough versus Google pixels 10 seconds until it stops, listening for your voice, or Bixby/voice to text with Bixby on Samsung devices where it only takes five seconds and then cuts you off or it will just stop listening in general on Google or Bixby voice texting and just cut you off in the middle of a text after 10 seconds of speaking or answer speaking what a joke lol hopefully Google can. I did it to one minute just like the iPhone ex S max same with Samsung and Bixby but currently right now android voice to text cut you off sometimes and or will just stop listening after 10 seconds after you’re done speaking either way iOS is better because it doesn’t cut you off that I’ve seen so far this new voice to text feature is amazing. I’m using it right now and I’ve been talking for over a minute and it has never cut me off, that’s awesome. No wonder google sucks lol.
I use dictation all the time. Recently got an phone 14 pro from a pixel 4a. Huge upgrade in general of course, but it’s crazy how much worse apple dictation is than google’s, even on an older budget device without any special dedicated chips.
I’m also pretty disappointed that apple utterly hamstrings the Google dictation experience on their own platform. Still going to keep the new phone, but I wish apple wouldn’t be so stubborn about how people use their devices.
