The LG34UC98 34" UltraWide QHD display makes editing timelines a breeze, but those used to Retina displays will need to adjust. Read the full review for more in-depth details:

  1. I aslo have a 21:9 monitor ! So great for video editing and watching movies
    ! A usual, great video ! :)

  2. Great video Jeff! I’d love to go to an UltraWide but that resolution
scratches my retinas at this point.

  3. Great video! I´ve got a similar display (34UC87, nearly identical technical
specs), but I am totally fine with the resolution. There may be less pixels
per inch, but of course you don´t put a 34″ display further away than a 15″
(MacBook) so the difference is only visible when sitting pretty close to
    it. :)

    • Are there any alternative monitors out there, other than thunderbolt
display, that have better quality resolution? say, a 27″ 4k monitor? I
haven’t seen any 27″ monitors with thunderbolt docks.

    • I couldn’t find any 4K monitors (w/o 21:9) and with Thunderbolt either. The
Thunderbolt port seems to be typical for LG´s 21:9 models 🙂

  4. Hi Jeff, is that the same Seagate 4TB backup plus drive you reviewed a
while back on IDB, is it still working fine for you? Thinking about
    purchasing one thanks.

    • +George Lim I’d lean you towards WD, less prone to overheating. I reviewed
an 8tb model I just got not too long ago and it works like a champ.

    • +chivatech Those are insanely beautiful. Saw an LG OLED the other day and
was about to have a stroke, aka braingasm.

    • +chivatech i would totally forget about OLED monitors for at least the next
5 years, the Dell UP3017Q look`s cool though

  5. I don’t think the non retina factor is gonna stop me from buying this.
3440×1440 is still a lot of pixels

  6. So this monitor can be used to run your peripherals? Like mouse,
    usb-linked-audio, and Etc?
