1. This setup is the dream! Will jump on that Core X SO FAST once I finally get a Thunderbolt 3 capable MacBook Pro.

   • i would hold off….doesn’t seem to provide that much benefit.

2. Will it only work with an external display? Or will it direct the graphics improvements back to the MacBook display?

   • It depends on the app. App developers need to update their apps to support displaying eGPU accelerated graphics on the internal display. Very few developers have done so thus far, and you will always have better performance on an external display. 3. Does this work while running bootcamp?

   • Officially? No.

   • How about unofficially?

   • Can we get a video on this? Please. Really interested

   • Swift Boiz Sometimes….sometimes not. Would not try it. Error 12 etc….

   • Really? I don’t see why it wouldn’t. Windows has far better support for eGPUs than MacOS does.

4. What about using some NVidia card there with macOS (not on Windows Bootcamp) ?

   • Yes please do this in Boot CampWin 10 and Nvidia GPU. I just chatted with Razer support to see if it would work and they said they didn’t know, never tired it, but they could escalate my inquiry to find out. I figured I’d ask you guys if you could test out that NvidiaWin10Boot Camp idea instead. Thanks in advance if you’re cool with that idea!

12. 9to5Mac Reviews a eGPU Case created by a PC Enthusiast Brand and is surprised by easy access, thoughtful design, toolless installation and exchangeable standard parts. xD

13. 9to5Mac – next time, please run some more serious software on eGPU boxes. Nobody buys that kind of hardware for gaming or benchmarking… Please make Cinema4D viewport operation, Black Magic software rendering (its using eGPU in 100%!) and of course – Octane render (or at least freeware Blender Cycles)
