The DJI Mic is a ridiculously-flexible wireless microphone system that includes two transmitters and a touch screen receiver. It's Made for iPhone, and includes Lightning & USB-C adapters.

DJI really did the great job as always.
Sold. Already on the wait list from this review. I know a lot of ways to use this but one I am interested to try are sports. Record but given the two mics to players and get a more close up sound of the action being recorded.
Excellent mic, it will be even better if they added repel mics.
That’s a nice set up , I’ve been looking for my first mic and was considering the Rode but I like the case here better. Everything in one spot for storage and charging as well as it being small is a must for me. Btw? Where did you get the hoodie ?!
Thank you, I think you’ll like either, but the DJI is def more convenient. The hoodie is from the 9to5Mac X Cotton Bureau store. https://cottonbureau.com/people/9to5mac
Uk what day it comes out ?
Mr. Benjamin, As usual, thanks for the fantastic video. I also have a AVX and RWG2, but will likely pick one of this up to become a primary mic system. I am hoping you can get a better answer from Rode than I can. As you mention, the DJI Mic is MONO only with iPhone… and it appears they blame that on Apple.. But the RWG2 [with the optional SC15 cable] DOES record STEREO to iPhone in Apple’s Camera app… So clearly it is POSSIBLE for them to record stereo via lightning… and without extra apps. Can you please investigate a bit more and get a better answer from them. That would seem to be a key crippling feature for this. We would RATHER use it than the RWG for simplicity and elegance , but, since our BedVlogs have 2 people [Sweetie & me], stereo is a key component. If they give you a better answer why Rode has been able to do stereo for a year and they can’t, please follow up with comment here or video. And, also if they answer with not now… but coming soon. Thanks once again for this and all the great videos. – Eric ZORK Alan & Sweetie [ Professional Poets & Bed Vloggers ]
Great review Jeff, as always.
How long can it record on a single charge? And how fast can it be recharged?!
I agree, I like more of the sounds recorded using the DJI
can’t wait for my delivery from B&H. Am a wireless Go and Go II user and have to say their products are great but their app is problematic. Have had to reinstall it several times just to do software updates. The ease of file uploads in the dji mic is big for me. Am a Mavic 2 owner and trust the build quality of dji products.
This seems awesome. Great for a fast set-up when time is short during production. And that case is neat.
Do you know if the transmitters have any kind of issue with microphones with a locking system? I have some DPA 6060 and I was wondering if they would work well with the DJI mic
Awesome video btw
Neat video! I didn’t notice a sound difference through YT compression, but I had a suggestion for future tests. A dead cat like is included is not acoustically transparent, I’d suggest using a standard foam or metal pop guard. What position were the mics in when you did the test?
A couple things that weren’t covered were battery life and time amount of recorded audio that can be stored onboard. I believe that the DJI Mic battery is related for only about 3.5hr and the Rode WGII about 5? Which is a bit of a bummer. Recording time varies depending on compressed/uncompressed but I think are comparable? If the DJI Mic had the same or superior battery life I think it would be a no brainer given everything else. So there are definitely some extra considerations with usability to be made.
Oh and otherwise solid video and review! Hope that didn’t read as harsh criticism!
Also, I own the RWGII but probably actually would have picked up the DJI Mic had it been available back in November. I think the build quality, everything included, the touchscreen for on-device-accessible settings, and the overall refined package with the charging case make it a nicer choice. Though that battery life is a big thing to consider.
One last note, with the price difference and not having the charging case OR adapters to use the receiver with a smartphone or laptop – if you buy the only 3rd party case option it’s not nearly the same as what you get with DJI, and it brings the price pretty much the same. Also small adapters >> cumbersome cables to deal with.
Not at all, it was very constructive. I appreciate comments like this. I think the thing that helps the DJI is the charging case, so it works a lot like AirPods. But yeah, it will take time to perform a full recharge, so you’d have to plan accordingly if you had a shoot on the longer side. And availability is a question for sure, I’m still looking to get my hands on one…
Sounds good to me!!! And that charging case is amazing!
Such a convenient set up and top-tier audio quality.
That’s a handy dandy sound system. Kudos to DJI for its ease of use.
Great video Jeff, thank you. A question, can you leave the hot shoe mount connected whilst the receiver is in the charging case? I would only ever use it on my Sony cameras, so I don’t imagine the need to take it out. Just thinking about your comments of how difficult it is to remove, it would be great if I could just leave it in place. Thank you.
My own problem with products with a intergrated battery is you have to throw the whole unit away when the battery inevitably stops working. Reading online you’ll probably get 3-5 years use
FYI: When connected to iPad Pro with usb C connector, DJI Mic doesn’t pick up the audio signal, which means you cannot use it as an external mic for your iPad. This is a big flaw for this product. I hope DJI can fix it by a firmware update.
Hi, great video, I’m leaning towards buying this as main audio solution!
Would you mind checking what’s the gap in mm between the receiver body and Iphone base when plugged to an iphone with the lightning connector?
Asking as I have a Beastcage for Iphone 11 and would love to find out if there is clearance to use the DJI mic mounted with it. Thanks
