3. I use it in coherence mode so I can run windows apps alongside mac apps in Mac OS and copy and paste between them. This allows me to use my Mac while installing windows updates, or I could just have it full screen and four finger swype right and left to switch between windows and mac. x86 apps work with emulation but only in 32 bit mode so not x64 as you mentioned. I upgraded for $49 from a prior version. thanks for the tip on bumping up ram and cpu allocation, I had used the defaults.

   • Coherence is nice, but I like keeping Windows fully “quarantined” if you will. But yeah, I see the appeal of Coherence for sure, I used to use it on the reg.

5. If it works well and isn’t too slow or anything, I may get an M1 powered Mac and run windows through it but also having access to MacOS when I want / need it

   • Virtual machines are essential for me, and plan on upgrading my 2015 MBP 15′ to an M2 MBP when all the tech, OS and software has matured.

   • windows for arm… not “real” windows tho

9. End of this year or the next it will be possible to full install windows on this Mac M1, windows is probably working on it right now. It’s just more users and money for them, so it’s something they want for sure.

11. Great video…. I’m curious…. The video showed you choosing Productivity in Parallels… if you configured Parallels for gaming would Rocket League performance would have been any different.

13. I’ve dabbled with Parallels over the years but haven’t had an actual use case myself for well over a decade so I’d let my attention wander to other things. This year my daughter graduates from high school and she’s enrolled in an architecture program for college. I bought her an M1 MacBook Pro for her graduation and we were both pretty excited about it. The university however has some “computer requirements” which are just as Windows-centric as they were back when I went to college in the 90’s. I can’t believe that developers haven’t come along yet to support the architecture industry natively on the Mac. So she’s going to be trying to run the required Windows software in Parallels (which the school specifically warns against). Fingers crossed that this works out so we can avoid her having to buy a stupid PC laptop.
