Nice update on the device I’m anxiously waiting for. Packed full of details insight and presented well. One small correction, the display has, “… more than 2500 local dimming zones.” Not 250. This great looking display will look even better in that slick leather case.
I was like damnnnn, why does this video look so good? Then I realized it was hdr and only 720p. I changed it to 4K hdr and it was obviously even better. Idk if YouTube video quality improved with iOS 14.5 and the new YouTube update or what, but idr it looking this good before….

First iPad. This case looks awesome.
So here’s my theory. With chip shortages being what they are…I think they didn’t announce anything new software wise to reduce interest in this device. That let’s them sell some and get them in the wild…then in June they announce how the iPad will really use the hardware….at which point they’ve had a couple months to produce more units and fullfill more orders.

Being able to switch between the iPad OS home screen and MacOS when connected to a keyboard and mouse would be awesome.
That would be excellent from my perspective. I just need everything to do Rust development. If I can do that, I would love to use the iPad Pro instead of getting a Mac. If they add Xcode, that is a huge game changer, but we will see.
No – being able to open macOS applications on iPad OS is what they should do
@Carson G. Several reasons, comfort zone, trolling, buyer’s remorse’s spite, etc. They don’t even realise how ridiculous they sound complaining on a TOGGLE OPTION/dual boot suggestion, not a single enforced mode (as apple would probably prefer, but perhaps that’s how they want it as well, being told how to use their device even if told not to use it at all).
Hell, I’d like it to run dual boot/MacOS for ipad just because applications like Clip Studio only offer full, single payment licenses to desktop. IOS and Android are stuck with a lite version or a subscription, not to mention the limited functionality either way of some mobile apps vs their desktop counterparts.

@Carson G. as long as I get desktop treatment on features and licenses I’ll be pleased. Say that’s the Surface Pro’s only appeal to me, because price-performance wise it is the worst of the bunch IMO so, I’m debating between this and whatever Samsung will throw to their tab s8 to make them appealing but if there’s a chance to get true desktop treatment I wouldn’t even have a reason to compare.

I’m coming from an iPad Air 2 so definitely upgrading. I’m disappointed the LED display isn’t available for the smaller version which is my preferred size for a device like this.
