Now that we have had some time to digest everything that apple released at their event. I am having second thoughts about this iPhone 14 line up. Here are my thoughts

#iphone14pro #applewatchultra #dynamicisland

It absolutely won’t be anywhere near a $100/month service. It’s using incredibly limited bandwidth, and very few will ever use it. Over the next two years Apple will figure out exactly how much it will get used, and take that time to find a reasonable price. I’m guessing somewhere around $10/month or less in the end (because the cost will be averaged against all users).
I am totally shocked that he thinks Apple is supplying rescue services. I am sorry but how stupid do you have to be!?!?!? Simple relay to 911 dispatcher bro calm down for real
Bruh its apple the same company that sells a cleaning cloth for $30
@Tech Tips LOL! that’s a good joke. Apple will most certainly charge you just like everything else they sell.
Exactly. You can buy dedicated satellite SOS communicators that charge $5-$10 per month for the exact same service. $100 a month is an absurd idea.
Exactly! Like all Apple’s products prices: “reasonable”
It’s a transition year from the notch (Or base will only have the notch going forward) and with supply shortage it had to be done but some will be tempted to the ultra with the battery life and screen size. Win win maybe?
I was planning on keeping my iPhone 13 Pro anyways. Besides, if the 14 is basically the same chipset as the 13, then I should get all the benefits of 14 once the new iOS 16 comes out next week.
You wont have only AOD at least for now..10Hrz not 1HRz
You won’t have dynamic island notification system. Stop fooling yourself.
@Popcorn Chicken Fr that’s like a down grade
@WaveChronicles Imagine, not dynamic island, what a loss!
No, i skipped it last year and im not missing the amazing new camera features, plus the dynamic island and satellite sos is incredibly useful!
I think that most logical people arent upgrading every year. That said, I am going from the regular 12 (my first non “Premium” model) to the Pro Max. That is a huge upgrade for me and I did miss having the biggest and best, previous to the regular 12 I had the iPhone X and it treated me very well for quite a long time.
@Agent47 12-14 pro is. Better screen (pro motion etc), more ram and way better camera.
Design isn’t different, but is a rectangle phone, how different can’t it be? Curved screen? Lol been there done that, what a waste of time.
But you don’t care and frankly I don’t care that you don’t. Have a nice life.
Xs to 14 pro would be a UPGRADE
@Agent47 LOL
I am illogical. I upgrade every year.
Those max’s are cartoonishly large.
I have a 13 Pro and plan to keep it for 3 to 5 years. The things that will really make me upgrade is usb c and all the sensors/cameras going under the display.
I’m really interested for the reviews of the dynamic island. It looks cool for sure, but I’m worried about a) smudges on the front camera b) ergonomic issue of having to reach to the top of the phone to use it. Apart from the much cooler animiations, how does it really differ from the regular notification bar? At first glance it seems a bit gimmicky, but I can’t wait to try it out.
@Michael
K look l up
@ابو راشد الزحمي I done looked it up
@Kevin Anand This words remembered my when Stve Jobds said, because of the “antennagate”: “It’s not the antenna, is the way YOU handle the phone”. Bunch of zombies.
@Catwalk TV Series Season One Episodes This words remembered my when Steve Jobds said, because of the “antennagate”: “It’s not the antenna, is the way YOU handle the phone”. Bunch of zombies.
Good job
I personally don’t care if the iPhone doesn’t look much different than the past 3 models I like the look I just need to upgrade because I need more battery life, my 12 pro no longer cuts it. Not to mention the upgraded display is an boon and as a guy that likes photography as a hobby the camera upgrades are nice.
It’s going to be worse next year for the prices as each phone in the 15 is going to have a new defining feature exclusive to the pro max which will force people who want the best to go all the way so actually this is the last phone where the pro and pro max will be the same.
I’m currently rocking the 13 mini, and I love it. It fits easily in my pocket, and the battery usually lasts me all day. If I need a bigger screen, I use my iPad.
Most people upgrade every 2 years because that is the minimum contract length in which case 12 to 14 is a decent upgrade and definitely worthwhile, it means you will skip the 15 and go to the 16 and so on.
@Jimmy Song Peeps are keeping the same fone more than 2 yrs these days. Phones are getting better and so are longevity and durability factors. The average person keeps an iPhone for like 4 yrs.
@Red Eye oh, I don’t doubt it. I don’t get a new phone every year like I used to, but it’s not because of contracts, which don’t exist anymore as the OP implied.
I ordered the 14 yesterday, but I’m upgrading from the XR so it’s about time!
@BooBee Exactly! Just what Apple want you to do every two years.
no i upgrade every 4 years not every 2 i wanna make sure i’m getting a decent upgrade and it’s worth my money
using a 13 mini. Not planning to upgrade until they do flush out cameras with thicker cases allowing much bigger batteries and vapor chamber to unleash the true power of these chips in longer gaming sessions. Otherwise it’s the same tech with gimmicks that are novelties to wear off. Thank you for the comprehensive video.
Totally agree about dynamic island, its a niche upgrade, its kinda look cool at first, but I cant picture me using it, its too far up there, just like using notification bar, it will be a waste of money upgrading to iPhone 14 pro just because of dynamic island
Usb c has been rumored since iPhone 12
SOS service is pretty sweet for anyone who does adventure based activities
The camera upgrade is pretty sweet essentially 4 cameras with 3 lenses
Battery life
The esim is pretty neat and I think foreshadowing the removal of ports
(Maybe a MagSafe dock that allows data transfer)
And all around for a financial stand point if you upgrade now then you’ll save money if you trade your device in.
I’m upgrading from 12 pro to 14 pro max
The camera upgrades is what sold me
And that island is pretty sexy looking.
P.S. not a conspiracists but I see a performance decrease in older phones when the new ones come out especially with these bigger software upgrades.
So I appreciate the info and I think for a lot of people perhaps yes skip the 14 but here is why I am getting it rather than the 13 or waiting till 15. I have the X model and aside from the battery having reduced capacity as it is getting old the phone works fine. BUT I have been waiting a long time for iPhone to up the camera resolution so I will get the 14 Pro (not max version) for the 48 mp camera. I realize megapixels are not everything and that the sensor is generally more important. But I have projects in which the increased megapixels will be a great benefit. And I realize it comes with some drawbacks for low light photos that Apple has had to compensate for. So with the 14 pro rather than 13 I’ll get all the recent photo upgrades for 13 and more. Sprint/T-Mobile is offering me the phone with trade in for $0 down plus taxes and $25 a month. And as for lightening charger I absolutely love them!!!! I do not really like USB-C so I’d rather just go now and get my camera upgrade so I can get down to doing what I want to do with it, rather than wait another year for the 15 that will probably be much like the 14 but may even lose the lightning cable. So that’s why I’m going for the 14 pro as soon as possible.
i had the XS Max for four years. Just got the 14 Pro Max yesterday and love it. It’s insanely faster. Noticeably better display in all regards and even the speakers seem louder and clearer. I used the phone quite a bit for 12 hrs, (some youtube, spotify, but mostly reddit and browsing) and I still had 54% Battery.
I can totally see why someone wouldn’t go for this if they have a 12 or 13 Pro, but I’m glad i waited for the 14. The amazing Cameras, Dynamic Island and the 1T storage were the selling points for me and the reason i didn’t go for a less expensive 13 Pro.
have u faced any camera rattling or vibration noises when u use 3rd party apps like Instagram or Snapchat?? Do let me know please.
@Krutin Dalwala Alot of people are experiencing this, go back to Apple and demand an exchange. Apparently it is a software issue
@Krutin Dalwala Nope, no issues at all. It’s been an awesome camera so far.
How do you feel about the weight of the phone, for example when you’re watching a movie in your bed? It’s too heavy? Thanks in advance.
Great video with excellent content. I have a question for you and would like your opinion. I have a iPhone 12 Pro now. I used to be able to charge the battery on the phone every other day. However, now I have to charge it every night. I’m considering a iPhone 14 Pro because of that. To get a better battery life, is the 14 Pro a smart move for me? Thanks…Steve
Not sure I agree because they has been pretty substantial differences in camera, and chipset support so while things taken apart don’t look very impressive but as a whole package its a decent upgrade
Thanks for this review! I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max and still love it. I feel like the iPhone 13 is a better value than the iPhone 14, so I’m waiting longer to see how it rates overall. One hesitation I have is the eSim capability vs. a regular sim card. Thanks again!
eSim is a no go for me.
I had the 11 and I got the 14 pro it’s worth it make the switch
