I had a ipod touch 4 gen felt like i was the coolest kid on the block! Owning one of them! I thought i had a iPhone but not it wasn’t a iPhone lol
I still use an iPod… I have over 7000 songs in my iTunes Library. I didn’t want to transfer all that music onto my iPhone, and wanted a designated device for my music. So, I’m pretty bummed that it’s going away, but not surprised.
Well the iPods should still work for years to come though right?
Same. I highly prefer iPod. iPhone gives me a headache and is a hassle for music. More importantly, it’s no coincidence brain tumors in young people is sky rocketing. You can’t spend that much time hooked up to your phone without it having an effect. I know multiple people, all young, who have died from or survived brain tumors, but only after extreme surgery.
@Scott Murphy Hopefully! I’m screwed when it breaks!
@Erin Galbraith , well I have an iPod touch from 2010 that still works perfectly fine and the 2019 model as well. They seem pretty sturdy.
I remembered when having an iPod touch was the coolest thing. Kids would bring it to school playing Angry Birds.
I still use an iPod! It’s a 4th gen (monochrome screen) that’s been upgraded to 256GB of solid state storage, 3,000mAh battery, and even has a Taptic Engine modded in.
Okay, that’s pretty cool.
Knew it was inevitable…. But I have my 1st gen iPod in a little frame on my wall now.
Actually, the successor to my aging iPod was an iPad Mini. iPads and other tablet devices make ideal music and streaming media players.
i was still in college when i was saving so hard to get the ipod classic then they released the ipod touch ones and ipod nano. i got the ipod touch gen 4 and i still have it. too bad the battery drains after 2 hours of use.
I had a 4th gen ipod in 6th and 7th grade and that thing was the best thing ever. What great time. Its a shame to see it die but it was inevitable. Rip iPods
rip the ipod
we love you
I have an I pod nano that still works on my new car after 17 years. Bought and I phone SE3 last month. May put it back in its original box, which I kept. The backbone of trillion dollar company, laid to rest.
It infuriates me that Apple is abandoning the iPod– in all its forms. I have a non-functional shuffle, and three iPod Nanos (two still function). These are my preferred choices for the gym, small, lightweight, delivering music or podcasts while I workout. Sure, I can take my phone instead– but why? Sorry, Apple, know you don’t care, but just because the market is “too small” is no excuse.
Agreed. I will find alternative mp3 players through other companies. No way does iPhone fill in for iPod.
streaming is not the be all end all. better off buying and ripping a cd.
I still own and use occasionally my early days ipod (pre touch screen), loaded with hi-res music ripped from audiophile CD’s. Still run smooth and sound very good. Its original headset is the best apple ever produced imho.
i owned every generation of iPod touch and bought each of them in the first week of their launch..!
My first iPod was a 64GB iPod Nano in Silver. That thing went with me everywhere and is quite possibly the reason why I went through so many laptops in high school. I used Limewire to download music because the iTunes Store was too expensive and I got a lot of viruses because of it.
And yes I will miss the product line
I’ve got a 4g and 7g (which I used until I got my iPhone) just got the 4 to start a Collection
The 2nd iPod Touch when Angry Birds was amazing was my laat iPod thoughi had many b4 it(and 1 Zune just to try). Soon after I switched to Android and never looked back. Currently on a Galaxy Fold 4 though I do have a couple iPad Airs and a Pro and an iPhone 12 for my only kid who refuses to use Android, the rest all love Android as well. I’ve tried every smartphone OS including Windows Phone(original and the rework with 7) Blackberry, Palm OS(was actually really good and the hardware was unique but it didn’t get much 3rd part app support which killed it), Tizen, Symbian, iOS and of course my absolute favorite Android.
