  1. So is it an “S” year issue or should we see this as acknowledgement of the global supply and minerals issues… and will those be solved in time for the next models…??

  2. I’m only excited for both iPads & the 13 mini.

I’m just disappointed there were no airpods, I was really looking forward to getting some

  3. So the bs leaks were:
    -sunset gold rumor
    -that purplish iphone
    -flat screen watch
    -faster fast charge iphone
On a side note, the new blue is just stunning. I was set on gold but wow that blue was a big surprise

  4. That Sierra Blue is absolutely stunning! Waiting for the 14 though. I am going to buy the iPad mini in the color Starlight ♥️

  5. This is the problem with being compelled to release something every year. Some years you don’t have the ideas or tech to make something amazing and worth buying every year.

    • @Key Gen yes, when? In 4 years? When they will switch to usb c a year before? Or when they will remove another milimeter to the notch? Or when they will also make a foldable phone? When they will finally add back touch ID? If they don’t have an idea to make a huge change for a phone then maybe just not make one or atleast call it the “S” or “SE” again.

    • @LA 2000 yep, I am a developer! Sorry pal, I don’t give a damn what Jony Ive says. Apple let him go because he lost his creative touch. It definitely takes more than one year to develop stuff. You don’t have a clue cause you don’t develop.

Elon Must as much as I love the guy doesn’t develop stuff in a year as well. Rocket technology has been around since the 50’s pal!

    • all the features ppl are asking are existing features that they can easily implement. So no need to defend for apple
Sadly nobody even expect apple to have ground breaking or shocking innovation like the old days

Touch ID on power button like iPad or under screen
      AOD
faster wireless charging snd wired charging
      revere charging
      Better zoom
Usb c or at least lightning with faster transfer speed
Storage per dollar( I get there is apple tax but in 2021 charging 100 dollar for double storage and with all these video and photo I don’t think apple cares about user experience as they claim)
bigger battery ( they reduce battery from 11-12 so the battery increase now seems larger )

Lists go on and I know apple fan boys now would be like

You don’t need any of this because of this because of that. Or the classic

      get an android lol

Which are very week counter arguments

    • I switched to Andriod. I get the same thing and much better features. I’m here because my kid wants an iPhone. It looks like the 12 is the one I want.

  6. So glad I bought iPhone 12 at discounted price this summer. The 13 model is just a marginal upgrade and not worth the money. That said, iPhone 12 is nothing short of amazing, I have almost 0 complaints about it which hasn’t been the case with prior phones I had.

Ramblings of a recovering Android user.

  7. An “S” model year is spot on!! I was so disappointed in Apple’s announcement this time I actually dozed off during the announcement!! I can remember when actual “S” models had more exciting upgrades. Really bummed out about the Apple Watch. Was hoping for that new look. Oh well, silver lining is I will be saving my money this year.

  8. I REALLY hope that new promotion gives us an always on display. Thats a deal breaker for me. Im looking to switch from android

    • I am always disappointed that the lower end models have more colors to choose from. I know there are MANY Pro and Max users who would’ve pre-ordered that pink. Apple is like… nope you guys are paying more I want you to have fewer options.

  9. And this is why you don’t follow “leaks” let alone take them seriously.

That being said, keeping series 4 for another year but that Camera and improved battery life alone is worth the upgrade for me.

    • U r right u shouldn’t follow leaks completely

But it feels now that even without trusting any the of the leaks and any expectations. It feels boring. Even in their presentation you can tell they are trying to sound exciting more than the phone offer

  10. People always forget that iPhone users hold onto their devices for a LONG time. The people upgrading to the iPhone 13 aren’t the ones who dropped money on the 12 last year, its the people who have been holding onto their dying iPhone 6S and 7s since 2016. To them, incremental upgrades across the last 5 years are radical.

    • I own iPhone 6 and it’s still good for general use. As tempting as iPhone 13 sounds, I can wait for another year for 14 lol
I hope they’d add macro camera to normal 14 series not jut pro series in the future!

  11. Personally I do not see any reason to upgrade from previous iphone or ipad. some of the expectations you mentioned (always on display ) need a battery breakthrough, with normal usage it is hard to get full day coverage of the watch or iphone, and especially for a watch which should help you to track sleep, during workouts, etc… you cannot continuosly stop and charge it… even if you have fast charging it is not productive.
also who is thinking about apple glaasses…. battery technology is the problem today… you can put high efficency cores for low power consumption, reduce refresh rate of the screen when you are reading, but it still a hefty consumption of power which is limited by the battery size and a technology (litthium polimers) which is not evolving so much if not in size of the batteries.

  12. I was planning to upgrade to the 13 Pro from my XS, but I don’t know. I’m just kind of whelmed by the 13. I really like the 120hz, but I also like not having a phone bill and my XS still works perfectly.

    • Same. I have an XS Max. Still works fine minus for a hairline crack down the middle of my camera glass which causes some annoying glare effects in my photos. I’m thinking of holding off another year for a more radical redesign, and get an iPad instead.

  13. Hey, 9to5, what about the rumour that the apple watch is a rescue operation, last minute, due to manufacturing issues with the new (and possibly more innovative) more rectangular design? So many people got it wrong? Or did they get it right but did Apple have to drop that design last minute?
