Hard to disagree. Not so much because of the power — the Air and mini have plenty — but because of features like USB-C and TrueDepth.

I still use the 10.5 “iPad pro and I love it
I have been using the 2018 iPad Pro 12.9” since December and haven’t touched my MacBook Pro. I have the Smart Keyboard folio and 2nd Gen Apple Pencil, as well as the Sanho Hyper Drive USB-C hub. I went all in but my workflow allows it, and so far the iPad Pro is working for me. When i need to work, i can. When i need to have fun and game or consume media, i fold the keyboard back and get to enjoy a massive screen while hanging out on the couch. Much more pleasant experience than a laptop.
Still holding out on the iPad. I’ll be getting a pro possibly after Apple tell us what’s coming in iOS13. Need something closer to a macbook
If I can, I would get both the baseline iPad Mini as a portable electronic notebook, music player, web browser, and for checking emails, and a maxed out iPad Pro to pair with a Mac Mini to be my workhorse.
