1. It will still be showing it’s age in 3 years and completely useless in 8 – just like every other Apple laptop they’ve ever made.

   • I still use my MacBook pro 13 from 2015. It is not obsolete, as is not my T460 Lenovo. So, there are examples of both worlds which last longer 🙂

   • It will not survive that long, the SSD will die between 1-4 years, depends on the use and size of the SSD.
     In additional there is a 12v rail close to the SSD which can kill it at any point

   • @Roman Avadiaev These are tested for a minimum of 10 years of usage based on what size you buy, so 256GB SSD will last 10 years if used as it should be. Remember wear is only on writes, and most writes (swap) are to dRAM on the NAND.

2. Q: what’s the resale price after a month?

   • The same as it was a month ago. You’re probably looking at close to a 10% loss or more selling a used machine. You’ll recoup more money the better your network is for reselling used goods. (High eBay rating etc…)

3. Yes content, creators, and coders should look to the professional/laptop part of the grid in the MacBook Pro’s. Normals who keep their devices for five or more years can be served when with either of the MacBook Air models. iGPU FLOPS Apple M1 2.6 TFLOPS and iGPU FLOPS Apple M2 3 TFLOPS. How much power does a normal need?

   Pundits always talk about the notch on the MacBook models that have it. Then they say like you do that you do not notice it once you are using it. As a normal I just do not get it. Do you talk about things like this because you need something to talk about?

   Pundit talked about the Home button/sensor, the “Dreaded Notch”, and bezel size on the iPhone. This normal, and I think most normals just did not care. We want something that works. In fact I miss the Home button/sensor as I knew that every time I pressed it where I was going. Now I have to remember which way to swipe. Trust me as you get older remembering how things work sometimes becomes an issue.

   • That’s fair, and I’ll definitely try to keep it in mind. The Air is absolutely a great machine. I mention the notch because it’s a rather unique aspect of the MacBook that most people haven’t experienced on a laptop before, so I see it as worth mentioning and worth sharing my perspective, that it’s not a big deal.

4. What is 14 inch like for photo editing?

   • It’s done a really great job for me. Haven’t run into any issues

6. I was really torn on getting the stock m1 14 pro but their prices after the m2 did not fall. Heck, BestBuy was even selling them for the same price. I ended up picking up an m2 air with 512gb storage (very good random deal on Amazon). I had to justify it like needing a truck those 5 times during the year and a regular car works just fine most of the time. Good video, and I think with your showcase I made the best decision for myself. Maybe an M6 pro one day 🙂

   • All YT creators and influencers recommending people buy the M1 meant that retailers do not have to discount the older-gen as they would with Windows, due to the M1 being so brilliant even in 2023.

     I have the MB Pro 13 M1, and c.2.5 year-old and still works like new, so I suspect it will be a great long-term investment.

7. Can no one say what’s bad about something any longer?
   Do we just not accept to only say nice things and give no feedback?

   Less than 4k or 5k is dumb.
   Why own a 4k 5k phone when you will never see its resolution on a pricey pc?
   Less than 4K or 5K for many creators, Makes video edits harder when working in tighter spaces.
   I wonder if zooming in to videos would make them even look decent with this kinda display?
   Also if you voxel model you will get blume as you call it all over when working, making it impossible to deal with.

   These things Im sure Apple knows and has handed us less than subpar screens at a higher price than ever before.
   Yet the reviews all say, BUY THIS ITEM and give no real constructive feedback on how they could improve or have lost touch.
   Where is the touch screen macs?… Oh yah we don’t care anymore since we have these ones. WTH people… 🙁

   What happened to people giving a opinion without being scared of the company?
   What happened to real talk reviews and not just here is all the ways I can say good things?
   What happened to brutal honesty?
   Why do we allow these people and companies to silence our voices?

   There is just no way I’m the only one in the world with a 4K camera.
   There is also no reason for blume to be accepted from a company as reputable as Apple.

   First they sell us wheels as if they are gold. Now we get screens that can not max brightness without causing vision issues or blume as you call it.
   Why are we accepting this as a feature or something we enjoy… Everyone enjoys having less than 4K screens and lower light levels?….

   • A higher resolution screen doesn’t help much when your eyes can’t define a higher resolution from the given viewing distance. It would just require the laptop to drive more pixels without any visual benefit to the user. Apple is also using the somewhat odd resolutions for better scaling for the size screen you’re using.

     The bloom deserved to be mentioned, but as I said, unless you’re working in a totally dark environment it’s almost impossible to notice. The options to totally eliminate bloom would be sticking with a solid backlight, where that will affect your contrast ratio, or switching over to OLED/MicroLED. I certainly look forward to MicroLED displays becoming a real, mainstream option, but the MiniLED display is a solid step up from their previous displays.

   • @9to5Mac good stuff, I can pick up the flashing from certain light bulbs in houses etc. so the Blume I feel I would notice. Not saying it’s the end of the world but would have rather seen touch screens.

8. Coming from a 15″ i7 MBP I was worried about the screen size. However I don’t feel like I’m missing anything. I have an M1 iMac so if I need a large screen I have it.
   It’s a really phenomenal laptop. Love that I don’t have to deal with the awful butterfly keyboard anymore as well!

13. all reviewers tell you to choose the 16inch Mac Pro like if its the same price , its not, I bought the 14 with 1TB for $2,199.00 if if would have bought the 16 inch with same specs I would have spend $2,699.00 an extra $500.00
