    • Go to System Preferences, then click on the “Users and Groups” icon. Then,
you’ll want to click on “Login Options”. Once you’re in that menu, you
should see a box that says “Show fast user switching as”. Make sure that is
checked, and select whether you want the full name, account name, or icon
      to show.

That way your name will stay on the bar even if you’re the only account on
      the computer.

  1. Mine lasted about 2.55 hours watching this video in a loop on latest
Macbook pro 15 using google chrome on full brightness & full audio.

    • It’ll be my first Mac [well, the 15″] and whilst I’ve only seen it in
person a couple of times, I don’t really have a way to compare it to the
old one; but given the new display is much, brighter, surely that opens up
the capability to draw more power (even though it should – in theory – be
more efficient at the same number of nits)?
So, with the same *effective* brightness, does the new model draw a smaller
or greater amount of energy than, let’s say, the 2015 model?

    • Super Woman how are you using chrome for video playback? Are you streaming
it because that’ll use a lot more power than a downloaded movie

    • +Emad Ahmed battery loads r very subjective, not everyone is doing one
thing on his computer … Atleast I while watching a movie, I’m always
downloading something in the back ground so under such kind of load … I
don’t get more than 6hrs to 7hrs on my 2015 macbook pro fully loaded …
      Many variables …

    • +Darth Vader I think some important use cases should be highlighted for a
better test. Plus, setting the brightness, volume to a certain level and
disabling everything else is lame since no one does that.

    • +Emad Ahmed it’s Apple marketing gimmicks, when they post battery time of
any activity on their website it means only that activity, as u can see
here he was down 2hrs because his Mac various hardware like Bluetooth n
wifi was enabled … When apple seta their timings they do one activity …
That’s why they use words like “upto 10hrs” 🙂
At full CPU load MBP 2015 or 2016 don’t last more than 3hrs … Loads like
video editing n in games not even 2 hrs

  2. Also if you have an i7 CPU then that will effect battery. It’s one of the
reasons I didn’t get one in my 11 inch MacBook Air

  3. My MacBook Pro 13″ with Touchbar (8gb of memory) is consistently only
lasting 3 hours, sometimes it’ll stretch to 4 hours of battery life. Mainly
using it for light internet browsing in safari, and sometimes listening to
    spotify… that’s it.

Might book it in to have it checked out at a Genius Bar

  4. If any computer can get over 5 hours of movie playback or basic use Im
happy! My 12 inch MacBook (early 2015, 8GB ram, 1.2GHz Intel M processor,
512GB SSD) gets about 7 1/2 hours of basic use(: Im pretty happy with that

  5. CAN YOU PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO THIS FOR THE 2015 MACBOOK PRO 13 INCH AND
THE 2015 AIR 13 INCH AS WELL? THE EXACT SAME THING PLEASE!
    THANK YOU SO MUCH
YOU COULD COMPARE IT TO THIS ONE
