  1. I stuck with the iPad beta that still has external monitor support. Hopefully the first beta after 16.1 comes out will bring back external monitor support so I can update again, if not I suppose I will hang on longer. I would rather have it with bugs than not at all.

  2. Hopefully they fix the multitude of bugs that were introduced with iOS 16. I can’t connect to my AirPods Max for more than a day without having to reset.

  3. I’m a programmer and I can tell you that the size of the update doesn’t really tell you how much is changed. It tells you the breadth of the update, but not the depth. Apps and OS’es are released by module, which in the case of iOS is by library. If even a single change is made to a library, even if it’s as simple as a syntax change, the entire library has to be included in the update. If a module is, say 100MB in size, even changing 1 character still requires releasing the whole 100MB library because the whole thing has to be recompiled. When the size of the update is large, that means changes were across a whole lot of libraries, but tells you nothing about how much is changed in any particular library. 1 change each in 50 libraries is going to be a lot bigger than a release where 50 changes are made to one library. Hope that makes sense.

    • Most of the time it gets mentioned just to fill out space. Beta reviews are so often unneeded. The git commit log would actually be useful, but Apple is Apple, we’re often limited to talking about build characteristics and cosmetic changes.

    • That is true. Whenever I update apps on my iPad they are usually more than 200MB and when you open it nothing has changed, and I was like “why are the updates so big in size? Cuz on my android they can be less than 1MB and more than 200MB”

  4. Beta to beta updates are delta’s and much smaller than this. Mine was 500mb-ish… yours being 5GB+ would suggest you’ve upgraded from a non-beta 16.0x release.

  5. The battery comparison between the 13 and 14…there was a lot of info for the 13 but not a lot for the 14. The bottom line is that the13 is better but the comparison was a bit jarring and a bit hard to follow since you hardly had any data for the 14 at all.

  6. I sold my 2018 iPad Pro almost a year ago.My first time without an iPad in the 11/12 years since they were introduced. No regrets.Since I got a MacBook Air last year I hardly used the iPad anymore and the battery was degrading so I got rid of it.Can’t say that I really miss it.It was too much like a giant iPhone and I already have a Pro Max iPhone.

  7. Not excited with IPADOS without the External Monitor Support. Apple should also delay releasing the M2 IPAD PRO as there is no reason to want an upgrade if older IPADs can do Stage Manager .

  8. I have joined the beta just to install ipados 16. Couldn’t wait. I have the A12Z ipad pro 12.9 inch. I am completely impressed. Apple has all along been dumbing down the capability of the ipad. It actually saddens me. I think for an ordinary user you can really use an ipad and stop using the macbooks. Stage manager on ipad is really impressive. I really like it alot.

    • Shame I have the 11 inch iPad pro M1 and don’t even use a lot of it’s capabilities, mainly because I don’t know how to use it haha. Looking forward to the eventual 4k secondary monitor support eventually.

  9. Dude, that outline around the dynamic island has always been there. I am on 16.0.3 (I have never been in the beta.) and I have that outline around my dynamic island. I do have a mostly black wallpaper.
