  1. could you tell me how to shoot this amazing quality videos. I mean what camera and what lens and so ? thanks

    • I just use a Panasonic GH5 and the 12-35mm native lens and that’s pretty much it. I used a slider on this video for some of the moves.

    • thanks a lot. I saw your gear in the discription. I thought you just love those items and you use other gear. I am thinking to stat tech Chanel on youtube cuz I love technology and apple products but it will be in arabic as I am from Egypt. anyway thanks for your time I hope you help me with that sometime 🙂

  2. Great video, also got this model earlier this month! Just wondering would there be a big difference between an i5 or i7 processor?

    • Well you can upgrade the CPU, RAM, and storage, along with an external GPU. It’d be a while before it becomes completely outdated to the point where you would buy another Mac/PC.

  3. snazzy labs uploaded a video were he throws an i7 7700k into the i5 model! Good video as every time.

    • Basti Faust Yeah you’ve always been able to upgrade the processor but it does void the warranty. It’ll be more interesting to see an i5 8500 or i7 8700k in there.

    • Apple Bits the title on this video is clear and right , best for the buck indeed it is . So buy now else if you are planning to buy it next 6 months from now then NO wait couple of months and get the better one since its ( near future ) but you are referring to next year and this imac released amonth ago .. duh

    • Fawaz Alrasheed You really aren’t understanding what I’m saying. I said in the past few years it would make sense to ignore comments about waiting. Except, I don’t think you know what you’re talking about. There will be no 1090Ti or 2010Ti. The value of waiting is based on the time you have to wait and how substantial the benefit would be. We have had quad-core processors for 8 years now. We have had the same design for 5 years (although I like the design). Therefore, it is a substantial upgrade internally and externally. I honestly don’t know why you’re talking about the iMac Pro, that’s irrelavent due to the price difference.

    • Fawaz Alrasheed I never said the title of the video was wrong, this years retina iMacs are amazing value and they’re a great buy. All I said was it would be worth it to wait if you can. If you don’t want to or can’t then that’s fine.

    • Apple Bits all right then next year when they release that iMac, then i will comment here again , oh guys wait for the modular mac pro release next year ! So you guys better wait for the better one , nice story bro

I hope this time you get it right mate .

Now tell how many years since apple release cased design mac ? A lot yes anyways thats what they have announced so no bullshit there search for it

    • Fawaz Alrasheed I honestly don’t know what you’re trying to say. What do you mean ‘this time’ i get it right? You mention the Mac Pro but it’s kind of like buying a Mac Pro now instead of waiting for that one. Obviously less drastic of a difference though.

  4. Still think its the best looking all-in-one computer out there- bezels and all. People have become super obsessed with bezels these days!

    • Agreed! It makes some sense for mobile devices like the iPhone. But on an iMac etc. it’s more a gimmick and a fashion trend then useful in any way. But I’m sure that’s where it’s going and we will see a bezel less iMac with the next design generation.

    • koolkatken Exactly, I don’t know what the hate is. It may look better without bezels (arguably), but it takes away from the experience. Similar to removing bezels from an iPad, it changes the way it’s held.

    • But iMac isn’t held. It sits there on the table. Personally, I hate those bezels. They really look outdated. But that won’t stop me from purchasing one.

Design isn’t going to be upgraded for a long time. iMac Pro comes out with the same design, so changing it next year, or for 2 years in to the future makes no sense.

So I’m not waiting. But I would really love bezels like on Dells monitors…

  5. Can you use 2*4GB RAM + 2*16GB RAM?
I’ve always been under the impression that they all had to be the same size or there was some sort of performance issue or something

    • For Dual Channel to be working, the two corresponding RAM slots need to be populated with the same size (preferably the same exact type). That is why 2x RAM sets are sold.

The sizes in the other two slots can be different from the first two, but again should be the same size and type between them.

Dual channel RAM has been around since DDR1 (or even earlier).

  6. My i7 model ships next monday..and yes i went with 8 gigs of ram and will up it myself.. the ram is already here.. got everything from B+H
swithing over from windows…this will be my first IOS..and i will also be getting my feet wet with FCPX

  7. Def the best deal on a Mac right now is this machine. Do agree about the design, It’s still awesome, just been around for a while, would have been nice to see Space Grey offered on all models, and the iMac Pro this fall to get a little bezel/chin trimming. When we first heard about the an iMac Pro I thought for sure they’d have a redesign ready for it, almost feels a little bit rushed I don’t know,

    • matt donlan Well we’re expected to get a redesign next year. Personally I like the bezels, but they could be trimmed in proportion on the 21.5” model. I don’t think we’ll get space grey though.

  8. Migrated to this from 27 inch iMac late 2013 model. Blown away by how this thing performs. Absolutely my best-buy in 2017.

  9. When comparing the “value” of the Magic Keyboard, Mouse and Lightning Cable, don’t forget buying a boxed keyboard and boxed mouse separately you’ll end up with TWO Lightning Cables instead of just one with an iMac.
