Games! Apple finally has their ray tracing hardware working! Hooray!!!!!! Fire up the 3nm line!
CAD/CAE is VERY processor intensive.Specifically 3D animations, flat patterning for composite manufacturing, and electrical circuit routing. Even more. M2 Max and ultra performance would be required.
Brian Tong has thought of M2 Extreme for an M2 processor above the M2 Ultra
I’d like to see a 27 (or more) inches of iMac!
Thanks, Fernando, for very important information!
I could probably easily run a fully a loaded M2 ultra to the max. Would love the challenge: Ableton Live + Max for Live, TouchDesigner, OBS, Syphon Recorder, loopback. Could probably add a few more apps and more routing but I’m sure, depending on the configuration of all the patches, assets, and project files, those apps running together on one machine will push an M2 Ultra pretty good. Processing all the DSP in real-time of course.
what about 15inch MacBook Air?
I want my hardware to last as long as possible so I will buy the most powerful I can afford now.
typically when I get my new Macs, I make sure to get ones that are powerful enough that I pretty much use them until apple stops supporting them lol. had a late 2012 iMac that I didn’t upgrade until the M1 iMac came out.
A “myriad”. It’s good news! Not an overabundance, not a plethora. There are a plethora of rules and regulations on taxation, but a myriad of new Apple Macs! Yay!
the only way I could see more new M2 Macs blowing us away is if they continue like they did with upgrades to the MacBook Air. Otherwise I don’t think it’ll be that much to get excited about, at least not for me. Currently using an M1 iMac.
Create a 16″ 120hz Macbook Air with the M2 Pro and 16GB/512GB standard. For a lower price. Nothing else excites me. I’ve been moving to PC recently. The Ryzen 7700X already equals the M2 Max and it costs $350.
1:10 “There’s a data company by the name of ‘Steam’…”
Oof! No better indicator of the sorry state of Mac gaming than 9to5 Mac thinking Steam is “a data company”.
It’s a product by a company named Valve. How have you not heard of Steam?!
I’m waiting for the M2 mini or the M2 iMac
music and animation can push the m1 max real easy its not powerfull enough yet
I just want the 14” to be a little thinner and lighter. It feels like 3 bricks right now. That is the only reason I kept my 2020 MacBook Pro.
Top 1%: blender, video editors, and iOS engineers.
