9:02 MacBook what?
T2 may also prevent 3rd party repair in the future. So screw that.
sunnibird just few cases in which you should need a official repair anyway for security too. Like Channing Touch ID on iPhones for example.
wtf how does that work
sunnibird well dont break it then and use a proper Apple Service station as half third party repair shops have not got a clue what they are doing
+Ian Emlyn Rees I’ve replaced HDs in 2 iMacs using iFixit vids and tools and one iPhone battery replacement (before they lowered the price of that repair). These are older iMacs. I’m not interested in paying Apple a fortune for the same job. Also Apple isn’t exactly known for honest assessment and pricing of repairs. See this story by CBC
https://www.cbc.ca/news/thenational/complete-control-apple-accused-of-overpricing-restricting-device-repairs-1.4859099
+Drunk Asian On certain repairs you have to run a certain Apple program to restore function to your machine or it won’t boot. Right now it’s limited to a few repairs. I think fingerprint sensor and logic board, but no one is entirely sure yet. That said if you, or 3rd party, open up your Apple computer they will refuse to repair it anyway.
Can u please go in details for how u set up your setup?) How it works, what programs, how to connect eGPU etc.?
Wanted to buy it, but the $1500 for a core i5/256GB, plus the need to purchase hubs or dongles to fully use this PC for my work & other standard business software required, I had to say No thank you.
It doesn’t work for me in particular for now, but it’s a really nice looking PC. Is just my opinion. “Some” apple sheep heads will attack me for having a different opinion…Just saying just in case.
+MaxKito2 Opinion is fine. It’s just that, your original comment seems like you think that this video was dedicated to MaxKito2. I didn’t see or hear that name in the video. Then, you edited your comment. Hmmm
MaxKito2 no matter what Mac you buy your still going to need dongles
+Ian Emlyn Rees Oh yeah, I know and I actually don’t mind in a way to buy dongles really. I was gonna buy the MBA, but when I spoke with a specialist, just the Core i5/256gd was gonna cost me about $1400 and it was way too much for an entry level Mac for me at the moment.
I don’t have any apple products, but laptops and tablets from apple are some things, I really consider to buy. Hopefully I’d find a good deal sometime. Thanks for sharing.
YES! I had the same thought, plus with Apple care+, this going to run you 1650$ without taxes. That’s waaayyy too much and it really sucks cause I love the Mac OS. They should’ve provided 256gb with the base model. I had actually been waiting for a new MacBook or Air to launch for a while now -_-
Why would anyone consider the entry level MacBook Pro, given that it still has the very problematic last generation keyboard? Too risky! The keyboard on my 2015 Air is much better.
2018 Macbook Pro’s have an updated keyboard
Your 2015 Macbook has pathetic screen for 2018 standard. TN Panel 720P
Why would anyone consider the entry level MacBook air in 2015??? It’s 10 year old design Apple forgot to update.
+Alan Hughes only for 4years, and you will have to wait a week every time
+Alan Hughes it’s a hassle
i will be happy if anyone gift me one XDXD
Can this machine handle coding ? I can’t make up my mind between this and macbook pro 13″ 8th gen. Really appreciate if you can help me.
amirreza ma I’m facing a similar problem…u should prolly look into surface laptop 2
I’d go with at least a quad core for compiling code.
Then go for a pro, because it has more power. I dont think you are interested in efficiency, so the pro is the better for you.
I think they did a nice job with it, but I bought the new 13″ MacBook Pro for just a few hundred more. For me, even though I don’t do any video editing or anything like that, it’s about longevity
nah man this air going last about the same
Drunk Asian I don’t mean the Air won’t last, I mean the faster processor will be relevant longer than the 7w one in the Air. It’s a bit more future proof for apps I may get into down the road
+Gabe Fore ohhhhhhhhhhh. sorry my bad
This is a $999 machine and should have been the starting price. Very underpowered, and makes a good case to look at that 2017 pro model. $100 difference is too small to ignore,
looks amazing but that price is sad… OS X is amazing but until apple makes macbook that costs under 1000$ its no go for me
Beautiful machine, beautiful review
Start at 1440€ in Europe….so no
nekk74 in USA $1199
+Jannis Blagovest Schröder The 1440€ includes taxes over there, so probably not a great deal of difference
1. The price difference between Macbook air and MacBook Pro Retina should be more than $100
2. MacBook air should not have more features than the pro model!!! ( touch ID power button )
3. So the consumer grade Macbook Air uses 8th gen and the Pro grade Macbook Pro uses 7th gen????
4. Never buy 1gen Apple product after apple refresh. They always have a problem after design refresh. It took 3 generations ( apparently its fixed*** ) get the keyboard problem right.
“We should be grateful for not downgrading camera” – that is the stupidest apple praising I’ve heard lately. The rest of review is fine, but wtf.
Its pretty crazy that the 2017 MacBook Pro is actually 150 dollars cheaper than the new air over here in Sweden. makes no sense
I got the 2018 pro with touchbar instead because for 400 more bucks I got a lot of power a better display ,better speakers, better trackpad, and touch bar which I like a lot!!
But I want to buy MacBook Pro 13 in 2017 with Touch Bar base model ! Is that better option Vs this MacBook Air 2018 as concern with affordability, performance, durability, display & value for money? In India MacBook Air 2018 price near about $1500 & MacBook Pro 2017 with TouchBar 256 GB 13 inch price about $2000 So which is best to invest….As I’m using SONY Vaio VPCEH28FN since 2011…
