Apple's MacBook Pro Leather Sleeve works with any Thunderbolt 3-enabled MacBook Pro models, but providing high-quality European leather comes at a price.

form over function 🙁
How? Maybe they want to protect the ports from getting excess dust, debris and decided on protection vs ability to charge while in the sleeve
Maybe make the cutout larger so there is room for the charger. If you want to protect the ports you could insert the mac the other way. Then you decide the function 😉
Way too expensive
Joshua Lawrence it is to expensive compared to the market prices. Open your eyes and don’t be fooled
Mark Davenport the price of the laptop doesn’t justify the price of the sleeve which it barely protects it
If you look at iPad/laptop sleeves from luxury goods companies this is very reasonably priced so your comment is ridiculous. Go and look how much a Mulberry case is and then get back to me.
Joshua Lawrence mulberry has a reputation building small leather goods, apple doesn’t have it they build electronics not fashion accessories. And also at least mulberry has a zipper in it, apple forgot to add this taking in consideration the laptop can slide off it and boom bye bye 5k laptop
barcitaa this sleeve isn’t for you. Get over it. I am buying it because the leather is beautiful. The case is well made, and I always carry my laptop in my bag so would never need to have a zip this works great to put the laptop on when on a surface.
179.00 LMMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!
You’re paying for premium leather. Just like you can buy cheap and expensive leather wallets or any other leather products.
At ~$200 it’s a waste. Get a sleeve or case that can actually protect it, outside of scratches. I’m talking like shocks and drops. Also never charge anything in something that is restrictive to heat dissipation

Did you copy paste this reply to everyone? There are a lot of good quality sleeves without the “Appel tax”, you know?
ImpiantoFacile *Apple
Get a saddleback leather one instead.
Magoo cheaper and it’s full grain leather.
You can buy Airpods with that money. Just let that sink in.
how much stock do you own in Apple?
J BG Still in terms of functionality the airpods to seem like a far more valuable item to have.
Or you could actually buy some great headphones like Marshall’s or Sennheisers
Already got them.
Harry Bob but does your air pods protect your brand new MacBook Pro. No it doesn’t. It’s Italian leather it’s like arguing over Italian leather shoes for $700 vs Coonverse. Both shoes can be walked in that’s where the similarities end.
Is it worth the price?
Short answer: No.
Long answer: Hell no.
You got that right, Hummel.
I thought the long answer would be “Nooooooo.”
No.
killing animals for a sleeve is never justified
You do realise that most electronics, including Apple products, use forced slave labour in developing countries. Correct? Or are you one of those people who thinks animals are worth more than humans?
that is not true, that is the problem. Skin is produced most from other animals, so in the 21 century we have many other alternatives then animal skin.
Those animals would die anyway, let them at least be useful
Christoph Stöbich mcdonalds already killed them, no harm, no foul
There’s the vegan.
Wait wait wait.
Leave the price outside of this for a moment.
You can’t close the sleeve to fully protect the laptop?
I was going to ask if it is even waterproof, but with having one side always open, I guess it doesn’t matter.
I wouldn’t pay 1 dollar for it.
“Especially when you have a 3 pound macbook inside” You are kidding right? You find 3 pounds a problem? I know you don’t speak just for yourself as others will surely say or feel this but my god this generation is soft!
Anyway, good video although I disagree with one more thing you say, this sleeve will NOT protect your laptop. Thanks for sharing.
Rip off!
I have the leather case for the iPad Pro. It was expensive but I think the build quality and form make it worth it to me. I’m the only person I know that would spend money on such a case. However, I’m looking at this case here and this is WAY WAY WAY too expensive for what it is. Especially since there is no support for charging the device. As much as I love Apple’s leather products, this one is going to be a hard pass for me…..
All you have to do is put in the oven for three minutes at 200°. Then pop your MacBook Pro in there and it will retain shape
Why is it so pricey? As if Hermès designed it.
Biiktor Mandafat if they designed it it would be $1200 like the apple watch band
For genuine leather? No thanks.
I can buy airpods for that price and still have cash.
Its hot garbage that causes a fire
Think the ports are covered to prevent dirt getting in.
Is this thing worth it?
1. To business man and woman: Yes
2. To student: No
3. Casual user: Yes and No
