  1. Is there currently a free way to find duplicates in PHOTOS in Monterey? I don’t wanna update while in the middle of projects.

  2. 7:00 sorry but that’s not what Passkey is. You’re just showing the new password configuration options, but “passkey” is apples version of password -less authentication. it’s not a re-branding of anything it’s just a new feature.

  3. passkey != iCloud keychain
    Keychain is the service that manages your passwords, public/private keys, secure notes and credentials.
    iCloud keychain is the service that syncs your passwords and Passkey across all your apple devices. it doesn’t sync other items on the keychain.

    Passkey is a passwordless solution for logging in. the server generates a pair of public and private keys, where the user keeps both while the server only hold onto the public key. when the user try to log in using a passkey, the service issues a challenge using the public key generated, while the user uses its private key to solve it. it follows FIDO standards, so Google, Microsoft would also support Passkeys with their own implementations.

  4. You’ve always been able to lock a note. The difference is it can finally just follow the system password rather than setting up some separate password.

  5. Ever since I updated to Ventura, my accent letters dont work anymore when long pressing a key. Also, long press to adjust volume in one go or using backspace continuously doesnt work anymore. Now I have to individually press each key to adjust volume/use backspace. Anyone with the same problem?

    • You just teached me about the sound, I didn’t know that, thanks! Here all the features you’ve mentioned are working fine.
