I did watch to the full end. Your cost and specs analysis is always appreciated. I made the excision to get the Mac Air M1 based on your solid advice. Thanks.
Hi Fernando ,
Thanks for the video. Regarding upgrading , I bought the 10XS Max the day it came out 4 years ago. I have mixed feelings about doing it. On one hand, there are 2 features I really wanted. Under display touch ID and the periscope zoom lens. I guess i will have to wait another year for these. On the other hand , there are aspects of the 14 pro max that will be better than my current phone. One thought is to get the phone and sell it next year when the 15 pro max comes out. Or save the money and forget an upgrade for now. Any thoughts?

Hi Luigi,
Thanks so much for your thoughts as I appreciate it. I have been thinking about it this past week and totally agree with you. I am going to purchase the 14 Pro Max and enjoy what it offers, and then see about the 15 pro max next year. Maybe I will try to sell my current phone on my own vs trading it with Apple.
@Stephen BEAUTIFUL! I hope you love your new phone and then love next year’s model even more.
Very useful video as someone deciding whether to upgrade from an 11 Pro Max to a 14 Pro or wait for the iPhone 15.
Rory, I also currently using the 11 Pro Max and looking forward to the 14 Pro. I don’t know about you, man? But my 11 Pro Max gets really hot when trying to record video and the screen dims to black / unviewable. I wonder if the same happens with your device? There is a rumor the 14 Pro line-up will come a “cooling vapor chamber”. Honestly, that will be the deciding factor when it comes to the decision of upgrading. If the 14 Pro doesn’t have this hardware, I will just deal this this device until the 15 Pro debuts.
@DJ I’m not finding that, but I don’t do long takes. Like you. my understanding is that cooling is supposed to improve in the iPhone 14.
iPhone 13 Pro Max -> iPhone 14 Pro Max.
I expect a 48mp wide, and larger photo sites on the ultra wide and selfie cameras. Hopefully, lightning will be increasing in speed, a vapor chamber cooler, and the display will be a LTPO 1-120 Hz promotion display. I buy 512GB models, but may increase to 1TB if lightning gets faster.
The non-pros will probably get a A15 with the extra GPU like the 13 Pros as well as the faster lightning (if it shows up). I expect some of the camera improvements will trickle down to the non-Pro phones.
Definitely not worth it. Only reason I went from my 11 pro max to the 13 pro max is 5G. If I knew then what I know now I would have stayed with the 11. I might go to the 15 Pro max if it comes with USB-C
I’ll be upgrading from the 12 Pro Max, so I’ll be quite happy with the upgrade if they are as expected.
Imma rock the 12pm two more years. Its perfectly fine.
Go ahead and waste your money on the same phone if you want.
Can you give me your 12 pro max after
@Homo sapien you really think someone on youtube is gonna give you their iphone 12? Just because you asked?
I have the 13 Pro and just purchased the 13 mini to try it out. So far I like it!! It’s a shame apple won’t make a 14 Pro mini. Not everyone likes huge phones. Definitely skipping the 14 lineup if I decide to return the mini. Not enough changes to justify me upgrading every year anymore.
If I were to guess, the iPhone 14 lineup will get the iPhone 13 Pro’s camera system sans telephoto plus the iPhone 13 Pro’s 5-core graphics version of the A15 instead of the 4-core version the 13’s currently have. Phones have basically stagnated on anything but camera improvements, so the iPhones probably won’t get anything else, Pro or not. For people with older phones, the iPhone 14 would be essentially an upgrade to an iPhone 13 Pro. Until phones stop becoming candy bars (like Apple Glasses), year-to-year changes will be boring, and that includes on the Pro side. Cameras have been good enough for years.
If I upgrade it will most likely be to the 13 from my 6 – that said in my opinion the 6.1 is still too big, but the mini is too small. There are now very few phones at the 5.7 size.
I’d recommend the IPhone SE. Same size upgrade internal chip
If there any new bells and whistles in the 14 series that could prompt me to upgrade in less than a year is the camera system, the main reason why I had splurged a significant chunk of my savings on the 13 Pro.
As same as my pc upgrading recently , from 6700k to 12600k . I am done with the A10 Fusion on my iPhone 7plus, and the heat issue of the battery too. Hoping that 14pro can bring me back to the earth, since I have been stayed in the other galaxy for quite awhile already.
I’m super happy with my 13 mini but I came from the 1st gen iPhone SE so this was big to me. It was cheaper also so it felt like the better deal. That being said, I could go for a bigger screen next time I upgrade – as long as it’s comfortable in my pocket and that the Mini is. Great phone.
I have the 5.8” iPhone XS and really like the size. Any bigger and it will feel like using a tablet and any smaller and your fingers will go into each other imo
If Apple ever came out with a phone the size of the Galaxy Note 20, I’m in. I have the 12 pro max and Note 20. I love them both but I prefer the size of the Note.
