  1. I don’t get this. Where does this 2 GB file go and get stored? On the iPhone’s storage? But the HomePod is a seperate device 😮

    • It’s quite likely that it just downloads direct to the HomePod over Wi-Fi and the phone is just there to start it and to show you its updating. If not it downloads to phone first then transfers it over the network to the HomePod.

  2. You can also just tap the homepod in the home app and it asks you if you want to update the one or all homepods.

  3. Too bad my HomePod just decided to call it quits, you guys might wanna research a defect where the HomePod’s volume buttons start flashing and it renders itself useless, not even a factory reset will fix it. Patiently waiting for Apple to send my replacement.

  4. OK, so this video is 2:29 long, and starts with “First open the Home app”. So, I paused the video, opened the home app and started a timer. 29 seconds later, the homepod was being updated. So, my point is that this video is at least 2 minutes too long. Or, since the default is to install HomePod updates automatically at Apple’s leisure, you could argue that this video is unnecessary. But to be more brutal, maybe a video explaining why it is not a good idea to install updates automatically, but rather manually, and lasting about 3 minutes would have been better.

  5. Does this update resolve the issue of me not being able to afford it?

*It’s funny because no one can*
