The new stage manager is really cool. I’m so glad to finally see the iPad Pro become the Pro device it is supposed to be.
using the word pro device is misconstrued by some
Stage manager still CANNOT freely move your app windows, it auto snap to a location that you don’t want
It still CANNOT resize every apps like games and banking apps.
U have no idea how limited Stage manager is.

Hey I have a question, I recently hooked up my iPad Pro on the iPadOS 16 beta to my projector and I wanted to the sound to come out of my iPad but it had no way of letting me do that. Is there any changes to sound control in the new beta?

If iPadOS were to be delayed by a month, Apple sure isn’t acting like it. If it were delayed, it probably wouldn’t have a ‘b’ at the end of its build number, plus it would still probably be on a bi-weekly beta release schedule like macOS, which almost always gets released in October. With a ‘b’ in the build, I’d expect next week’s to have an ‘a’ with RC1 being the following week. Oddly, that would put final release on the week of September 6, but Apple doesn’t usually put their keynotes that close to a holiday weekend. Curious. Two RC’s, maybe?
The base iPad is usually released in September, so iPadOS might need to be ready for the September event. If stability problems are due to Stage Manager, it’s possible Stage Manager gets bumped to 16.1. The only way I see iPadOS delayed until October is if the base iPad is postponed, possibly due to the power outages in China.
Gutted that we still don’t have full-screen external display gaming. Really hoping for at least 16/9 soon.
This is all great, but I feel external apps like google sheets, zoom, etc.,still have very limiting functionalities that make the experience of using the ipad frustrating.
Just wait a few months until everthing is optimised. We’ll get there. For the Apple Silicon transition on mac it was the same. Lots of issues in the first half year, at least for me as a music producer. Now that almost every plugin and third party app ist optimised its smooth af.
I am glad and excited to see Apple bring the the M1 iPad Pro closer to being a smart and useful desktop replacement with the release of iPadOS 16 beta 6.
Using Stage Manager looks like it will take a long time to get used to! I have a feeling I won’t be using it on either iPad or my desktop.
Using desktop capabilities on the iPad Pro is like …. Wanting a pet Lion but instead dressing up a Cat in a lion’s costume. It looks similar but just doesn’t have that X factor that makes the lion a lion. Stage manager is Apple dressing up the iPad Pro in a desktop’s costume but it just doesn’t feel right.
there is deff a learning curve. been using it for a month now and i am finally getting used to it
Still wish this would also work with the Ipad Pro 2018 and Ipad Mini 6 and not just the M1s. I just want full widths /resolution on my external display !

Very frustrating that it’s only for M1 iPads. I have the gen just before M1 and missed out on this

I wish you could move tabs with the arrow key like you can on Windows (win + arrow key)
FInally, the iPad Pro will be the machine it’s meant to be. I’m so excited to be able to completely off my iPad Pro, as I really enjoy using iPadOS. Sometimes the simple interface and user friendliness is a highly welcome change, even for a “power” user. I’m a sysadmin, so I spend a lot of time in RDP and Terminal, and being able to use my pen “flick” to take screenshots, then instantly mark them up has been so dang useful
I think there needs to be some type of stage manager program for the A15 iPad mini, and 10th gen iPad 2022 that has no release date right now. I just downloaded beta 7 and am curious to see what’s in store, before it even drops.
